OUR LENTEN MISSION will take place on Tuesday, March 6 th and Wednesday, March 7 th. Our presenter will be Fr. Deacon Vasyl Tymishak from Saskatoon. He will continue the mission at St. Basil s Parish on Thursday and Friday of that same week. His topics will be The Parables of Mercy, Lord s Prayer, The Cross, and The Resurrection. 3 GENERAL CHURCH CLEANING in preparation for the Easter season will be taking place on Saturday, March 10 th, beginning at 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.. We will then attend the Divine Liturgy and Sorokousty service and finish cleaning after those services. Sign up sheets are provided on the table in the front foyer. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION BRUNCH will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018, following the Divine Liturgy and distribution of pussy willows. Tickets are available today at a cost of $13/adult, children 6-12 years - $8; children 5 and under - free. You may also contact Len Markewich at to reserve your tickets. EASTER FLOWERS: Pussy willows and flowers for Easter have been ordered. If you wish to contribute to the cost of these, please use the envelopes provided at the back of the church. ST. ATHANASIUS UCBC 50/50 RAFFLE TICKETS: a reminder that sold 50/50 ticket stubs are to be turned in no later than midnight March 11, 2018 to be eligible for the March 25, nd Early Bird draw. Please tear off the sold stubs and along with cash bring them in next Sunday. Please keep the unsold tickets and continue to sell them. This solo exhibition features the works of Saskatoon visual artist Roma Nowakowski. The showing of this exhibition will run until May 5, THE MARIAN CENTRE will be hosting a Lenten Program on Saturday, March 10 th at 2:15 p.m. at the Marian Centre. The Nazareth Family Spirituality of Madonna House, with a talk by Fr. Paul Burchat, MH Priest. The Program starts at 2:15 with the conference, 3:15pm with a period of silence, 3:45 a short coffee break, 4:00 is sharing circle, 4:30 is supper, and 6:30 is evening prayers. The Third Sunday of Lent is that of the Veneration of the Cross. The cross stands in the midst of the church in the middle of the Lenten season not merely to remind men of Christ s redemption and to keep before them the goal of their efforts, but also to be venerated as that reality by which man must live to be saved. He who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me (Mt.10:38).
