Couples preparing for marriage are in the thick of their preparayons for their upcoming big day; the flower gardens are bursyng at the seams with all kinds of plants and flowers as well as the throngs of shoppers looking to put colour into their yards aier a long and drab winter. The nicer weather gets many out into their gardens to get their hands into the dirt. The skate boards, roller blades and motorcycles are out in full force and of course, the school children are counyng the days to the last day of school and beginning of summer holidays. I am sure the teachers are anxiously counyng as well! For those of us who keep our eyes on a liturgical calendar we begin the first Sunday of June celebrayng The Body and Blood of Christ on June 3 rd. CelebraYng the gii that Jesus lei us before ascending to the Father, the gii of his real abiding presence, and his body and blood that we are invited to consume during the celebrayon of the Eucharist. What more could our God give us? What more could we ask of Him. Towards the end of June (the 24 th ) we celebrate the NaRvity of John the BapRst. The cousin of Jesus who prepared the way for his coming. And on all the other Sundays in June, we celebrate what we call Ordinary Time. That Yme of the year when we just celebrate the giis of the Lord s love, mercy and forgiveness. Maybe a Yme that we can focus on what we have a tendency to oien take for granted most of the Yme. May the upcoming months be a special Yme for remembering the goodness of our God. See you in Church! Fr. Rick

2 GRAND KNIGHT S REPORT Brothers: My, how time flies by. Elections are over, and I would like to thank those brothers who have stepped up to join the executive and those who have stayed on for a second term. As you may know, we still have some director positions open and I would like volunteers to come forward to ask about them. We also need a bar chairman for an up-coming bar in late June; please or phone me. The recent survey that many of you have completed indicates that our council is not in trouble yet, but we are going to be soon. We have a core group of Brother Knights who do most of the work, but they are getting burnt out. This is not good. If that happens, then what? If you are interested in chairing an event, you will not be on your own the past chairman will help you. The framework for everything we do is written down; you will not have to re-invent the wheel. We just need fresh men to step up. Please do not use the excuse I am too busy. As Grand Knight, my life is chaos but I make the time because I am proud to be a Knight. I am also proud to be your Grand Knight. I do forget things from time to time but I have a great support network in my family and Brother Knights. So remember: call or me. I will let you know where we could use your help. Communication is a two-way process. I do not have the time to call everyone, so here I am asking for your help. Gkmarshall8233@gmail.com or cell: or home: DEPUTY GRAND KNIGHT S REPORT Welcome to Summer, Brothers. I would like to thank Brother John Chiarcos who has stepped up to take over your Monthly Bulletin. John, I truly appreciate you taking this on and I look forward to seeing what you will do with the bulletin. I am proposing a Knights Family Picnic for a day in July or August. There will be no cost except for sharing a salad/dessert. All Knights and families will be invited. Bring your kids, grand kids, anyone you wish. The council will provide hamburgs, hotdogs, juice, pop whatever. There will be tractor rides, games, etc, if the kids come. It will be a time of fellowship and fun. What I need from you: Thanks very much Paul 1. Interest: Do you want to come? Not sure of a date yet. 2. Volunteers: Can anyone help me set up and take down? 3. Venue: I am trying for my family farm, but if anyone else has an idea please let me know. Paul Johnson DGK Paul.johnson@publicboard.ca (519) NEWS FROM THE DISTRICT DEPUTY Brothers, this month I would like to wish ALL the men of ALL the councils in District 21 a Very Happy Father s Day. I would hope that you will be able to have a GREAT DAY spent in any way or fashion which makes your individual day truly happy. This elections of executive positions in the councils of our district is over, and I wish to CONGRATULATE all the members who are returning for another year in their respective positions and those NEW to the Executive. I bid you WELCOME; to those leaving a council executive, I would like to say THANK YOU for your dedication. The fraternal year is fast approaching its end and even though the District did not hold any church or membership drives, we managed to add 19 new members to our ranks. Well done! But can you imagine if we d actually had a recruitment drive? The training that I have been requesting since our July 2017 meeting has not happened, and as May is the month when First Communions take place, it will be June before we try anything. I congratulate ALL the Councils in District 21 for their efforts with membership this year, as each Council managed to add at least 1 new member to their roster. There is a Knighthood Degree scheduled in Harrow for July 22 nd ; the degree will start at 2:00PM. More details as the host council, Francis J. Clarke, needs to decide what to do. PLEASE TRY TO RECRUIT AT LEAST 1 NEW MEMBER BEFORE JULY 1 ST - THERE ARE DEGREES SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 18 TH IN KINGSVILLE. On Saturday, June 2 nd at Oxley Beach Golf Course (597 County Road 50), we will be holding a DISTRICT 21 GOLF FUN DAY - OPEN TO ALL. We will have a NOON shot gun start. PLEASE ASSEMBLE NO LATER THAT 11:30AM at the Golf Course. The cost for 18 holes is $20.00 and 9 holes is $ Afterwards, we are planning to go to Paglione Estate Winery (724 County Road 50) for a time of fellowship - it is just down the road. Wood-fired Italian style Pizza and Salad (buffet style) are offered along with 4 wine tastings, ALL for just $14.00 per person. If you are interested in having some FUN and GOOD FOOD, PLEASE call me ( ) with the names and number of people attending. I need to know now, as the cut-off date is May 26 th, 2018; otherwise, it will be cancelled. IF YOU ARE ATTENDING, I NEED TO KNOW NOW! THE GOLF COURSE CAN HANDLE WALK-ONS, BUT THE WINERY NEEDS TO KNOW HOW MAY WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN THE PIZZA AND SALAD BUFFET. The Installation of Officers date of July 8 th had to be cancelled as I will be in Toronto for the District Deputies meeting. Welcome to June I trust everybody is enjoying the beautiful weather we are finally getting. Before we know it, it starts getting cool out, so get out into the fresh air and take it all in. I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate our Squires Circle, and especially Dominik Jezierski for winning Squire of the Year. Congrats to our Chief Counselor Steve Benson. He received an Appreciation Award... for knowing Everything!!! This past weekend, 7 of our Squires, and 4 Knights/ Counselors attended the 64th Annual Squires Convention in Burlington. Check out their posts and photos on Facebook at (John Atkinson squire Circle 5147). Now, on to intentions. We pray for the repose of ANNE BURGER'S soul. She died on April 30th. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ken Burger, who was a Past Grand Knight, who passed away himself in Pray also for the repose of the soul of KEN GRANDMAISON, brother fo Lloyd Grandmaison. Ken died a few weeks ago in Victoria, BC. He was 88. Dan Dumont's cousin REBECCA ANDERSON died in Sudbury a few weeks ago. She was 38. Please pray for the following members of our council: FR. RICK JANISSE, Brother JOHN WARMENHOVEN, who will have gone in for bypass surgery by the time you read this report. Brothers DANNY NELSON, STAN BALAKOWSKI, RICHARD AMLIN, VERN RIEMER, ANTHONY REBKOWEC, & PGK TED as well as his daughter SAMANTHA STYCUK also need our prayers. Also in your prayers, remember members of our extended families: young MICHAEL MEDIEROS and his Grandfather ADALINO MEDIEROS. Pray for Steve Benson's fatherin-law ALEX JACKSON, who has been diagnosed with cancer. Pray for Brother Michael Binder's mother MARY, as well as his dad MIKE SR.. And finally, pray for JOHN and LINDSAY DRIEDGER. John, who is a good friend of our PGK Ted, was recently diagnosed with cancer. Please include in your prayers, my brother JOHN BOUTROS. Lastly, pray for the repose of the soul of ALBERT MICHAEL HEFFERNIN of Harrow. FOR THE RECENTLY DECEASED In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. In this life you embraced them with your tender love; deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest. The old order has passed away: welcome them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

4 SQUIRES REPORT Worthy Knights & Squires This past month our circle had their election of officers. First, I would like to thank and congratulate our past executive for their outstanding commitment to our circle. Our new Executive is made up of Chief Squire Paul Jezierski, Deputy Chief Cameron Medeiros, Notary Squire Matthew Dekold, Bursar Squire Dominik Jezierski, and Marshal Squire Jonah Glajch. At the time of this writing, we are the Squires Convention in Burlington. We have 14 circles from across the province (squires & counsellors 193) and the Ontario State Board. The squires provincial board invested 12 new squires. The State Board did a Knights First degree Friday night, with former squire Caleb Coulter becoming a night along with 3 other young men. Congratulations, CALEB! This month our circle is having a soccer challenge at the Kingsville soccer field on June 9th (rain date June 16). We also still have our gym nights on the 4th Monday of the month, so if you re feeling active, come on out. The squires from our circle will wear you out and you'll sleep that night.
