Psalm 89:11, NCV Bible Story: Creation, Day 1 Light and Dark Genesis 1:1-5 Make It True (, 20 minutes) After children have participated in Make It Fun, gather them for a large group time that includes interactive worship, introductory sketch and Bible story. Encourage children to be active during worship by incorporating the appropriate hand motions. These scripts are written to be told and not read. Advanced preparation is necessary. Worship Everything Come and See What You Need: Paperclip Memory Verse Card (from the Activity Pages on the Website) in your Bible at Psalm 89:11. TEACHER: Hello, everyone! I am so excited to be here with you today to worship God together! I can't wait for us to hear a really awesome story about Creation. This whole summer we are going to learn that [Bottom Line] God made everything. I am going to ask you a question, and I want you to give me an answer. I am going to ask, Who made everything? 4 TEACHER: Great job, everyone! Now we are going to sing a really great song. Are you ready? This is how it goes. Lead children in singing Everything (God Made). God loves it when we sing to Him! You did such a great job singing! We have a new Bible verse for this month. Are you ready to hear it? (Pause.) It says, You (point up) made (pound fists one on top of the other) the world (put your arms overhead to form a circle) and everything in it (spread your arms out wide), Psalm 89:11. (Open your hands like a book.) Will you say it with me? CHILDREN and TEACHER: You (point up) made (pound fists one on top of the other) the world (put your arms overhead to form a circle) and everything in it (spread your arms out wide), Psalm 89:11. 5 Introductory Sketch & Bible Story What You Need: Flashlight, glow sticks and a s more. Hi, my name is. Freeze (hold up the flashlight). I am so excited because I am getting ready to play a huge game of flashlight tag. Give me a thumbs up (hold your thumbs up) if you have ever played a game of flashlight tag. It is sooo fun. First I will chase Mike around the park with my flashlight and I will shine my flashlight on him and he will have to freeze for 3 whole seconds (pretend to freeze). Count 1, 2, 3. Then he will have to chase me around the park with his flashlight and when he shines it on me I will have to freeze for 3 whole seconds (scrunch down and freeze). Count 1, 2, 3. I just love flashlight tag. There are so many cool things we can do when it is dark outside. Have you ever played with glow sticks in the dark? You can wave them around (wave the glow sticks around) and see all the different colors in the dark. It is so awesome. Or, what about a campfire? My favorite thing about campfires is making s mores. My family roasts marshmallows on sticks and they get all gooie, ooie and yummy. Take a bite of the s more. I just love all the things I can do when it is dark outside. Dark can be fun and so can daytime. Let s watch the video and see what the Bible has to say about night and day. Bible Story Play the DVD titled: Wonder, Look at God s Story Post Teach/Review: Let s see what you remember from the Bible story video. TEACHER: What did God make on Day #1?
