MATTHEW 28:19, NIV KEY QUESTION Who can tell others about Jesus? 10 UTES 10 UTES Gather children for a Large Group time that includes interactive worship and the Bible story. The Rug Script is written for those who pull their children to a rug (or area) to one side of their preschool space to tell the Bible story. If you gather your preschoolers together from multiple rooms and have a larger space on which to present the Bible story, you may benefit from using the Stage Script. WORSHIP Use the full mix of the monthly song provided with the curriculum to lead your preschoolers in worship. Encourage children to be active during worship by incorporating the appropriate hand motions. WHAT YOU NEED: Paperclip Memory Verse Card in your Bible at Matthew 28:19. You will need a CD player and this month s worship song, Jesus Is Alive, which is included in your monthly files. The dance moves for this song are available on the Everybody Sing Dance Moves DVD. LEADER: Good morning everyone! It s so good to see you today. I can t wait to sing with you today. But first, tell me: Who can tell others about Jesus? LEADER: Yes, that s right! Let s sing our awesome new song all about how Jesus is alive! Lead children in singing Jesus Is Alive, this month s worship song. BOTTOM LINE I can tell others about Jesus. BASIC TRUTH Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Yay! What incredible singers you are. Who can tell others about Jesus? LEADER: That s right! I can tell others about Jesus. Our memory verse tells us that we can go all over the world and tell people about Jesus. Let s practice it. Are you ready to do it with me? (Pause.) Let s do it! Go (run in place) and make (pound fist into palm) disciples (hold the hand of the friend next to you) of all nations (extend arms over your head in a circle), Matthew 28:19. (Open your hands like a book.) Let s do it again. (Open your hands like a book.) (Repeat several times.) LEADER: Way to go! Everywhere we go we can tell others about Jesus. He is AMAZING, and He loves us all so much. 4 10 UTES 10 UTES STORY Choose an engaging adult to tell the Bible story. This person should be able to command the attention of preschoolers and control the group through animated storytelling. These scripts are written to be told and not read. Advanced preparation is necessary. First Look offers weekly introductory sketches and Bible stories on the DVD titled Wonder, Look at God s Story. WHAT YOU NEED: Bible LEADER: Hey there, friends! You re looking super awesome today. I m glad you re here, because I have an awesome and TRUE story to tell you from the Bible. (Hold up Bible.) You can always trust that the things you read and learn about from the Bible are true! Last week we talked about how Jesus body was buried in a tomb after He died. It was very sad. But did Jesus stay in that tomb? (Pause.) Nope! He was in there for three days and then Jesus came back! He was alive! This was the do it with me (cup hands to mouth) BIG NEWS! Jesus wants everyone to know that He is alive and that He wants to be our friend forever. So He sent His friends, the disciples, from town to town to tell everyone that Jesus is alive. Let s help them. Hey, guys (cup hands to mouth), BIG NEWS! Jesus is alive. Say that with me! CHILDREN AND LEADER: (Cup hands to mouth.) BIG NEWS! Jesus is alive! LEADER: Great job, everyone! Jesus IS alive. From town to town they went, telling people that Jesus is alive and that He wants to be their friend forever. They became like one church the very first church! They shared everything they had with each other. They shared their food. Quick, everyone call out your favorite food! (Pause as children respond.) They shared clothes. Quick, name something you wear! (Pause as children respond.) They shared everything. Quick, everyone say, Everything! (Pause as children respond.) Awesome. They shared everything and then they went out and told more people that Jesus is alive and He wants to be our friend forever. (Point to one side of the room.) And then those people told people about Jesus. (Point to another side of the room.) And those people told more people about Jesus, and so on and so on and so on. And now guess what. WE can go to our friends and say do it with me (cup hands to mouth) BIG NEWS! Jesus is alive! Great job! Jesus IS alive, and He wants to be our friend forever.
