4 Summary President of the extremist Islamic organization All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi threatened another partition of the country alleging that in the name of Ghar Wapsi, Sangh Pariwar wanted to eradicate Islam that the Muslim community would not accept at any cost. He however made a ridiculous claim that Islam was older than Hinduism so such Hindu leaders who believe in 'Ghar Wapsi' must give up Hinduism to embrace Islam. AIMIM's history has been very controversial. The organization was founded by a noble of Nizam of Hyderabad in The objective of this organization was to make Hyderabad an independent Islamic with the help of Britain. One of its presidents Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung was treasurer of the Muslim League which was responsible for the partition of the country in Owaisi family has been spreading hatred among people of different sections of society and several cases were lodged several cases against them by the government. What is strange is that this organization even today speaks the language of Pakistan claiming that Hyderabad state was forcefully annexed by India with the helped of Army. Supporters of this organization observe September 17 the day Hyderabad was merged with India as the Mourning Day. This clearly indicates their dangerous intentions. Attack on the French weekly by Al Qaida was criticized all across but there are people in the country who not only supported this attack but a Meerut resident Haji Yaqoob Qureshi declared a prize of Rs 51 crore for these attackers. Jamate Islami is indulged in propagating Islam among non-muslims. This was reflected from an interview of its chief Maulana Jalaluddin Umri to a Pakistani news magazine where he claimed that not a single Indian language is left in which Jamate Islami literature is not published. Jamate Islami has published more than 400 books in Hindi only that how to bring Hindus to Islamic folds? The organization is publishing newspapers and running TV channels in 21 languages for the expansion of Islam. It is clear from the fact that Jamate Islami is busy making India an Islamic nation with all seriousness. Security agencies must keep a close watch on the fact that from where Jamate Islami is getting money for this campaign. Several countries started vehemently opposing the way swift Islamisation of Europe is taking place. Germany is opposing providing citizenship to the refugees living in the country. The way Islamic Jihadi organizations are cropping up in France, the French society is reacting very sharply. Interesting thing is that liberal countries like Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland are also opposing growing influence of Islam which is an important indication. India Policy Foundation January 16-31,

5 NATIONAL I Bharat Ratna demanded for Sir Syed and Ali Johar Azizulhind on December 27, 2014 reported that in the meeting of Muslim intellectuals, it was demanded that the government of India was partial in deciding Bharat Ratna award. These intellectuals demanded that founder of Aligarh Muslim University Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Khilafat leader Mohammad Ali Johar must immediately be given Bharat Ratna. Sir Syed had done good work for education among Muslims while Mohammad Ali Johar participated in freedom struggle and was a social reformer. He laid foundation of Jamia Milia in Delhi. Inquilab on December 28 reported that retired justice of Supreme Court Justice Markandey Katju that it is improper to give Bharat Ratna to Madan Mohan Malviya and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said that there was nothing big to their credit that they should be given Bharata Ratna. Both Aligarh Muslim University and Banaras Hindu University was set up to divide the country on the communal lines. He said that denying Bharat Ratna to Urdu poet Ghalib was an injustice to him. He said that if Sardar Patel and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar could be given Bharat Ratna posthumously, then denying Ghalib Bharat Ratnaa was injustice. In the same newspaper in another news report was published demanding Bharat Ratna to Sir Syed. Mayor of Aligarh and senior BJP leader Shakuntala Bharati said that Bharat Ratna to Vajpayee and Malviya must be welcomed but denying Bharata Ratna to Sir Syed is injustice. Students of Aligarh Muslim University sent a memorandum to the President Pranab Mukherjee signed by 10 thousand students in which it was demanded that the founder of Aligarh Muslim Univesity Sir Syed Ahmed Khan must be given Bharata Ratna immediately. Roznama Rashtriya Sahara on December 20 wrote a special editorial in which Bharat Ratna to Sir Syed was demanded. The writer welcomed Bharata Ratna to Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that he tried to better the relation between India and Pakistan and contributed for the development in the area of Atomic energy. Besides this the editorial termed it wrong to call Sir Syed Ahmed Khan communal and talked about separate nation for Muslims. The newspaper supported him for Bharat Ratna. So giving him Bharat Ratna is absolutely correct and he deserves it. II Muslim leaders baffled over Ghar Wapsi campaign Muslim leaders are perplexed over the campaign of Ghar Wapsi by the Sangh leaders. Setting aside all Islamic traditions, Muslim leaders started claiming that Islam was older than Hindu religion. However, Muslims have been of the belief that Islam was started by Hajrat Mohammad Saheb around 1400 years ago. India Policy Foundation January 16-31,

6 A Hyderabad-based Islamic scholar now living in America published a write up in Siyasat on December 28, 2014 in which he claimed that Islam was started in India and it was started by the first man Hajrat Aadam. Dr. Waqar Hussain Qureishi claimed that if Hindus believe in Ghar Wapsi they must convert to Islam because Islam is older than Hinduism. He tried to substantiate his claims by sighting Quran and Hadith. How come extremist organization AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi keeps silent on this issue? Urdu Times on January 6, 2015 reported that Owaisi claimed in front of reporters in his Hyderabad office named as Darul Islam that every child was born as Muslim but their parents convert them to other religion. He suggested that Hindus running Ghar Wapsi campaign must accept Islam. According to Sahafat, Secretary of a Muslim organization of Aligarh Forum for Muslim Studies Jasimuddin targeted Owaisi by saying that he did not have knowledge of Islam. His claim was absolutely wrong to say that every Muslim was a born Muslim. If this is correct then why Quran emphasizes bringing people to faith. He alleged that Owaisi was spreading hatred in the society and demanded the government banning AIMIM. On the other hand saint of Dwarka Shaktipith Swami Sadanand Saraswati says that Hindu religion is eternal, so every child born is a Hindu. Interesting thing is that Urdu newspapers baffled with the Ghar wapsi campaign of the Sangh Pariwar are indulged in false propaganda. Siyasat wrote in its editorial on December 22, 2014 that Narendra Modi talked about development for all in his pre-election campaign but after coming to power he has become puppet in hands of the RSS. Now, decision has been taken to make India a Hindu nation which is against the constitution. Muslims and Christians are forced to convert and emphasis is being made on enforcing Common Civil Code and making Bhagwat Gita as the national book. Urdu Times on December 31, 2014 sighted an article of A G Noorani in its editorial that as per the Ideology of Golwalkar and Sawarkar, the only aim of the Sangh Pariwar is to bereft Muslims and Christians from equal rights as long as they don't accept Hinduism. This Indian newspaper also played up the statement of former president of Pakistan Pervez Musarraf in which he had claimed that there was Indian hand behind terrorist attack in Peshawar. The newspaper alleged RAW and Intelligence Bureau for spreading terrorism in Pakistan. Azizulhind on January 4 reported sighting its chief Maulana Jalaluddin Umri that some affiliate organizations of the RSS was trying to cause unrest in the country in the name of Ghar Wapsi. They want another partition of the country. He claimed that conversion cannot be banned as per constitution. Urdu Times on January 1, 2015 criticized to the fact that supporter of the killer of Nathuram Godse were now claiming him to be a patriot and planning his temple. Such anti-national organizations must be banned. The newspaper termed the RSS, Hindu Mahasabha, Hindu Yuva Vahini, Dharma Jagran Samiti as traitors. The newspaper claimed that there are hands of America and Israel behind anti-muslim campaign in India. Urdu Times in its editorial on December 31, 2014 wrote that Narendra Modi was not only himself weak but his government was also very weak. The Modi government is puppet in the hands of RSS. It appears that the Sangh Pariwar has given liberty to anti- Muslim, anti-christian and other such activists for causing riots. Urdu Times in its December 12, 2014 editorial wrote that PM Narendra Modi and his associate Amit Shah hushed up anti-national statements of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, MP Adityanath, chief of Dharma Raksha Samiti Rajeshwar Singh. 7 ideology. Mohan Bhagwat said, We have not come from outside and this is our Hindu nation. There is no need to worry, Hindus are awaking. There is nothing wrong to bring back to the people who had left Hinduism. But actually the real foreigners are these Aryans and Brahmins who had captured properties of Dravidiyans and sent them to down south. But Muslims are not going to flee the country. A Muslim lives and die on the wish of Allah. Now, we repeat that Sangh Pariwar is planning to drive out Muslims from the country. They are being supported by Jews being added by multinational corporations, market forces and the media. But the promise of the God is that he would hand over leadership to oppressed people. We have faith in Allah so we are not going to afraid of anyone. In the same issue, a threat was given through the editorial that this country is not ancestral property of Sangh Pariwar to make it a Hindu nation. Construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya is major trouble for the BJP. Modi failed to build Ram Temple in Ayodhya therefore to hide his failure such things are happening. Everyone knows that what the RSS is saying is not going to happen. Had Muslims not been there, the country would have never attained independence. The country is that much to Bhagwat as much it is to Muslims. So Mohan Bhagwat must not play with sentiments of Muslims else he would turn into ashes. III Rs 51 crore prize declared for killer of French scribes So what if the entire world is denouncing attack on the office of French Weekly in which dozens of journalists were killed in jihadi attack but Indian Muslims and Urdu newspaper were playing altogether a different tune. BSP leader from Meerut and former minister Haji Yaqoob Qureshi openly supported attackers by saying that he would with give Rs 51 crore. This is to recall that he is the same Qureshi who had announced awarding gold worth Rs 10 crore to the killer of the person who had made cartoon of Prophet Mohammad Saheb. He is the biggest beef exporter of the country and this announcement caused pandemonium across the country. According to Roznama Rashtriya Sahara (January 10, 2015), Meerut police filed case against Haji Yaqoob. He kept silent after case was registered against him and switched off his mobile. Inquilab on January 9, 2015 reported attributing him that disrespect of Prophet across the world would not be tolerated and big prize would be given to the person who kills such people. Delhi-based Akhbar Mashrikh criticized attack on the French weekly in its editorial but also claimed that the attack cannot be termed improper the way campaign was being run against Prophet in Europe. There is an outrage against Muslims across the world due to media's anti-muslim stance. In the name of freedom of expression, Islam and prophet is ridiculed despite Muslims repeatedly objecting to it. How come disrespect to Prophet be tolerated by Muslims. According to Azizulhind (January 10), minister in the Uttar Pradesh government Azam Khan justified Paris attack. He told reporters in Rampur that they got for whatever they did. 8 Islam and Prophet. Reaction was inevitable to the campaign run by this weekly newspaper. Azizulhind softly justified the attack and also criticized the fact that attacks on mosques across Europe is condemnable that took place after this incidence. The newspaper said that no Muslim can tolerate disrespect to Hajrat Mohammad Saheb. If anyone says anything against Prophet then there is nothing wrong in given them befitting reply. The newspaper published three write ups by different authors in which attack was justified. According to the newspaper, maximum numbers of Muslims live in France in Europe and their number is around 60 lakh. If attack on people showing disrespect to Prophet is not justified how come attack on prophet could be justified? Roznama Rashtriya Sahara on editorial of January 9 criticised that in the name of freedom of expression Islam was targeted. There is a need to stop them by the countries across the world so such situation does not arrive where journalists are killed. The newspaper criticized offering Rs 51 crore to killers of French journalists and termed it as cheep publicity stunt. IV Jamate Islami converting Hindus Dawat (January 10, 2015) reported that chief of Jamate Islami Hind Maulana Jalaluddin Umri claimed while speaking in a conference of Jamate Islami that the organization was working for the expansion of Islam in India and no organization could beat it. At present, Islamic literature is made available across the country and target of the organization is to convert as many people to Islam as possible. Islamic literature in India was available only in Urdu till 1948 but later on the organization started making it available in Hindi and English. Hindi-speaking people in the country are around 30 crore and the target of Jamate Islami is to take Islamic teachings to them. There are around 300 books about Islam in Hindi. Not a single language is left in which Islamic literature is not available. Policy of Jamate Islami is to take message of Islam to non-muslims. Earlier it was Islamic scholars and Sufi saints who were converting people to Islam and due to this Islam spread in India very fast. During the British rule in India, the contact of Islam with non-muslim was severed. This claim was made by chief of Jamate Islami in an interview to a Pakistani newspaper. Muslims got Pakistan for their rights but even today Hindus in India consider Muslims their opponent and enemy. But the truth is that Islam should be presented in such a way that accepting Islam becomes the only solution for liberation. Their condition can be better only after they accept Islam as it is the religion of Allah therefore Jamate Islami is trying to reach every non-muslim. Several organizations are working to brings Hindus to Islamic fold but Jamate Islmi's work is well organized and with a proper objective. Jamate Islami is publishing newspaper in every Indian language. Hindi, Telugu, Bangla, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Oria, Asameese, Manipuri and languages from the north-eastern areas, newspapers are being published in every language. Mostly these newspapers are weekly. But in Kerala the organization is publishing both daily and weekly newspaper in Malyalaam. Daily newspaper of Jamate Islami Madhyam is published from the eight places in Kerala. It is also published from several Gulf countries and Islamic literature is published by several trusts but chief of these trusts are always from Jamate Islami. 9 Islami also started around a dozen news channels that are propagating Islam and is also planning to start news channels in Urdu, Hindi and English for expansion of Islam. A media house has been constituted from there one can watch programmes of Jamate Islami on internet as well. Umri claimed that more Islamic literature was produced in India in comparison to Pakistan. The reason being that India has more non-muslim than Pakistan who has to be brought to Islamic fold. Jamate Islami workers are ceaselessly trying to reach out to non-muslims to convert them Islam. Umri claimed, By exposing disparities within Hinduism, we are trying to convert Dalits and other such groups to Islam who are not getting justice in Hinduism. He said that some Pakistani emphasized that if Muslims were not getting justice they must leave India and come to Pakistan. But no Muslim would leave India because Islam has to be spread there. 11 Cover Story SPECIAL REPORT ON MIM Owaisi threatens another partition of the country AAll India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi threatened that if the unjust policy of the Narendra Modi government and Ghar Wapsi programme continued among Muslims, there were a threat of another partition of the country. Owaisi was speaking the same language that Jinnah used to speak before partition. Therefore countrymen must be cautious about these jihadi elements. Addressing the media at the Hyderabad-based headquarters of AIMIM Darul Islam (House of Islam), Owaisi said that Islam was the oldest religion so such Sangh leaders who wanted Ghar Wapsi, they must come to Islamic fold leaving Hinduism. In an interview to the English magazine Frontline, he alleged that Sangh Pariwar was thrusting Hindutva on the country. As far as development was concerned that was a mask to hide dangerous intentions of the Sangh Pariwar. He answered another question that between 1961 and 2001 the population of Hindus declined by 3.1 per cent while Muslim population increased by 2.7 per cent. He claimed that the declining population is not due to conversion but due to several other reasons. He said that if Christian missionaries were getting money from the foreign sources for conversion then why the government was allowing these missionaries to get foreign funds at first place. He claimed that anticonversion laws in the five states of the country - Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat - are against the norms of Indian constitution. These laws are against the provision of Asaduddin Owaisi equality because as per this law if anyone wants to become Muslim or Christian he/she will have to seek the state government's permission. He alleged that the Centre government formulated five such laws to stop Dalits converting to other religions. He claimed that conversion laws were against Islam and Christianity. He alleged that ever since the BJP came to power, Hindu communal elements were emboldened. He said that Dalit Hindus wanted to embrace Islam and Christianity for being harassed under the caste system of Hinduism and Brahmanical order and to stop them the BJP government was talking about new conversion laws which were absolutely against Indian constitution. He said, "When we talked about sufficient funds for the development and poverty alleviation of Muslims or talk about growing number of Muslims in jails then we were branded as communal." He claimed that there was a sharp decline in the vote bank of secularists in Maharashtra especially in Dalit and tribal dominated areas. He said that the party was planning to expand its base in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. The secular face of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh was exposed due to the recent incidents while the way madarsas in West Bengal were being targeted after Bardhaman blasts, Muslims were disillusioned with the Trinamool Congress. The party wanted to take benefit out of the situation. Owaisi is trying to expand base of his party when he recently opened office of his party in Lucknow. The party is also planning to open new offices in Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, Kolkata and Guwahati. He intensified his visits to UP and Bihar to strengthen his party's base in these states. Owaisi family has been always spreading hatred in the society Abdul Wahid Owaisi and getting political mileage out of it. His grandfather Abdul Wahid Owaisi was sent to jail for spreading hatred between the two communities and speaking antinational language. In 1958, he was facing these charges in the court. Asduddin's father Sulauddin Owaisi was nothing less than anyone in inciting communal violence in Andhra Pradesh. AIMIM was behind several incidents of communal violence in the state. Around two years ago, Asaduddin Owaisi ran a campaign a g a i n s t h i s t o r i c a l Bhagyalakshmi temple near Charminar to demolish it. Due to this, communal violence broke out in Hyderabad around five times. In 2009, Hyderabad police had lodged cases of inciting communal violence against him. Addressing a meeting on January 5, he said that if the police was withdrawn even for 15 minutes, Muslims would annihilate Hindus in India. In another public meeting, he spoke despicable words about Lord Ram and his mother. In September 2012, Owaisi said that he would not allow any Bangladeshi to be deported and to stop them in the country; he would not shy away from even resorting to blood bath. In another public meeting in Nizamabad, he said that those who were saying that Muslims should go to other countries, if Muslims had gone to other countries, they would Akbaruddin Owaisi take Taj Mahal, Lal Qila and Qutub Minar along and what would be left behind broken Ram Temple and nude paintings of Ajanta Elora. Cover Story The organization named as AIMIM has a very incriminating history that is captured by the Owaisi family. This organization was founded by Nawab Mohammad Nawaz Khan on instructions of 7th Nizam Osman Ali Khan in 1927 and its aim was to make Hyderabad an Independent Islamic state with the help of British Raj. Reign of this organization was passed on to Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung an associate of Mohammada Ali Jinna. Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung was national executive member and treasurer of All India Muslim League. They supported formation of Pakistan and Jinnah came to Hyderabad on the invitation of Bahadur Yar Jung in 1939 and met with Nizam. It is said that Jinnah requested Nizam to announce merger of Hyderabad with Pakistan but he did not do so because he was dreaming of becoming emperor of an independent Islamic nation. Around this time, a Muslim lawyer from Beed Qasim Rizvi contacted Nizam Mir Qsman Ali with the help of Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung. Nizam Bahadur Yar Jung with Mohammad Ali Jinnah opened his coffer for Syed Qasim Rizvi and he recruited 1.5 lakh Razakars. The aim was to protect independent Islamic nation of Hyderabad of Nizam. These Razakars targeted Hindus of the Hyderabad and adjoining areas, looted, killed and mass raped Hindu women. India Policy Foundation January 16-31,

14 Cover Story In 1947, when India attained independent, Nizam announced independence instead of merging Hyderabad with India. At that time Qasim Rizvi had made speeches everyday on Radio Deccan of Nizam against India saying that Muslim Army of Hyderabad would capture entire India to make it an Islamic nation. The Caliph and emperor of the new nation would be Sultan Mir Osman Ali. Nizam with the help of Pakistan sent 65 lakh pounds to Ambassador of Pakistan in London through a bank in London for purchasing arms and ammunition that was opposed by India. The money that has increased to 3 crore pounds is still lying in the London bank. Both India and Pakistan are fighting to claim it. When atrocities of Nizamshahi reached its nadir, the then Home minister Sardar Patel put pressure for Police Action on Hyderabad. Indian Army entered Hyderabad from six sides under the leadership of General J N Choudhary and Nizam's army and Syed Qasim Rizvi Razakars tried to encounter India Army but they were u n a b l e t o s u s t a i n surrendering in two days. Nizam announced surrender on Radio Deccan and General Choudhary was appointed military administrator of Hyderabad. AIMIM leader Qasim Rizvi was arrested by t h e A r m y a n d h i s organization was banned by the government of India. Qasim Rizvi was given death sentence but he was released on this condition that he would leave the country. He had left for Pakistan in Nizam and his puppet organization AIMIM always Nizam's Rjakar have a link with Pakistan. Proof of this is from the fact that Indian government had house arrested and sacked PM of Hyderabad Mir Laiq Ali Khan but he reached Mumbai by car deceiving security forces in A Pakistani plane was waiting for him at Juhu Airport and he reached Karachi boarding it. Even today the party mourns September 17 as Yome Syah (mourning day). This is the day when merger of Hyderabad with India was announced. Is not it the language of Pakistan that Owaisi and his cohorts are speaking? Qasim Rizvi handed over reins of AIMIM to a Hyderabad-based lawyer Abdul Wahid Owaisi before leaving for Pakistan. It is said that Owaisi contacted Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and the government of India lifted the ban on AIMIM. After the ban was lifted, the AIMIM became active in Hyderabad politics. It organized Muslims and started instigating them against the government of India. In 2000, AIMIM leader supported fatwa against Salman Rushdie and Taslima Nasrin in which prize was announced for killing these authors. The AIMIM broke its alliance with the Congress after that incidence. However, the party gave an excuse that the Andhra Pradesh government was not ready to demolish illegal Bhagyalakshi temple so he withdrew the support. After the death his father, the rein of AIMIM was taken over by Salahuddin Owaisi and he had won Hyderabad Municipal corporation election in He had won most of the elections in Hyderabad. In 1984, he had won from Hyderabad as an independent candidate. In 2005 and 2009 AIMIM fielded candidates on two seats but in 2014 the party fielded candidates from five seats and had won just one seat. As far as Andhra Pradesh Assembly is concerned, the party fielded five candidates in 1989 and had won four, four out of seven in 2007 and seven out of 20 in It fielded 15 candidates in 2014 but was not successful on a single seat while in Telengana Assembly; it fielded 20 candidates winning seven. The same year the party fielded 24 candidates in Maharashtra Assembly elections and has been successful on two seats. Besides Assemblies, AIMIM captured Hyderabad Municipal Commission and Mayor of Hyderabad Majid Hussain belongs to the same party. AIMIM has won 12 seats in Nanded Wagla Municipal Corporation while in Karnataka elections in 2013, the party had won six seats. The party is also trying to dig into Hindu vote banks. Three former Mayors of Hyderabad K Prakash Rao, A Sathyanarayan amd Alam Palli Pochiya were Hindu. This time round in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the party fielded 24 candidates out of that four were Hindus but they all lost elections. 17 WORLD I Demonstration against entry of Muslims in Germany Azizulhind on January 7, 2015 reported that protest was being organized in several cities against Islamisation of Germany. The demonstration was being organized by an anti-islamic organization and rallies are organized in Berlin, Clone and over a dozen other cities. The organization claimed that Muslims were coming to Germany with a definite motive. In 2013 around 1.27 lakh Muslims took refuge in the country while last year the number of such Muslims have gone up to 2 lakhs and they all applied for citizenship. According to the government sources, this report was confirmed that from the past a few years Muslims from Syria are taking refuge in Germany. Leaders of Pagida are saying that if exodus of Muslim refugees is not stopped in the years to come Germany would become an Islamic nation. Munsif on January 3, 2015 expressed concern in its editorial over the campaign against Muslims. It said that the campaign against Muslims in the West threatened lives of Muslims. Mosques were being targeted and three mosques were bombed in Sweden within a week. Muslim women are attacked. Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel appealed to the people to keep away from anti-muslim protests. She said that such nationalists who are protesting against Islamisation of Europe must not resort to violence. The newspaper accepted that anti-muslim sentiment was increasing in European countries because they are afraid of Islamic dominance in Europe. II Saudi Arabia beheads guilty in full public glare According to Munsif (December 27, 2014), Saudi Arabia is part of four such nations where death sentence is given in public glare. III Citizen's right demanded for Rohingya Muslims According to Urdu Times (December 31, 2014), United Nations General Council demanded from the Myanmar government to restore citizen's rights of Rohingya Muslims and restriction of their movement in the country must be restored. General Council proposed that there were around 12 lakh Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar but the government calls them Bangladeshi. The government says that these are Bangladeshi infiltrators living illegally in the country. In 2001 when there was a clash between Buddhist and Rohingya Muslims, around 280 people were killed and around 1.14 lakh Rohingyas were rendered homeless. They are living in refugee camps since then. United Nations also instructed Myanmar that besides restoring citizenship rights, the government must allow them to write Rohingya Muslims. Arrangements must be made for their safe return to live peacefully. It is emphasized in proposal that there must not be any partiality with them. IV Punishment for denouncing Islam According to Sahafat (January 10, 2015), a person was sentenced to be whipped in public for showing disrespect to Islam. Raif Badavi has been given punishment of 100 whips outside a mosque in Jeddah and after that sentenced to jail for ten years. He has been sentenced to be whipped 50 times every week and was imposed fine of 10 lakh Riyal. Badavi is the owner of Liberal Saudi Network and was arrested two years ago. 19 OTHERS I Karnataka government to celebrate Tipu Sultan's anniversary According to Akhbar Mashrikh (December 26, 2014), Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah announced that the Karnataka government would celebrate anniversary of Tipu Sultan. The CM was speaking on the occasion of the book release function of Prof V Shanker's book Tipu Sultan : Tabdili Ka Mujahid. The BJP opposed plans of the Congress government. They said that Tipu Sultan forced Hindus to convert to Islam therefore celebrating his anniversary is inappropriate. BJP leader Suresh Kumar said that people in Kurg area have not forgotten atrocities unleashed by Tipu Sultan on Hindus therefore it is inappropriate. This is simply an attempt to garner minority votes. Siyasat on December 26, 2014 reported that the Congress government announced setting up a University in the name of Tipu Sultan at Srirangapatnam. III Thousands unemployed after expansion of Nabawi Mosque Siyasat on January 3 reported that the Saudi Arabia government was spending one thousand crore Riyal for the expansion of oldest mosque Masjid Nabawi.
