3 A Message from Our Pastor Dear People of St. Patrick Parish: St. Patrick Parish is happy to once again open the doors of our Infant Center, Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten and grades Kindergarten thru 8th grade. It is with great joy, hope and happiness that we welcome God s children to our Catholic school for the school year. Our enrollment is full and we employ over 50 teachers and staff members in our school. We are one of the largest employers in the town of Rodeo and the City of Hercules. As your Pastor, I want us all to be proud of our Catholic School and of our St. Patrick Parish, Rodeo/Hercules. I would also encourage you to maybe help sponsor a child in our school with tuition assistance. This is one way to help our families in the parish. We are also now preparing for our Faith Formation students and our Life Teen and Confirmation programs that will begin soon. Again, if you would like to help sponsor a child in the program, we would be most grateful. Today, as your Pastor, I share with you the following information: Fr. Peter has requested, and the Bishop has granted him, a leave of absence from active ministry. Fr. Peter has left the parish. Let us all keep him in our prayers. We have begun the process to replace Fr. Peter with a Parochial Vicar for St. Patrick Parish. On behalf of the parish, we thank Fr. Peter for his ministry to our parish these past two years. 4 News ~ Information ~ events St. Vincent de Paul Bundle Sunday August 26 & 27 The St. Patrick St. Vincent de Paul Society will be collecting soft items (clothing, linen, shoes, belts, and purses) after each Mass on August 26th and 27th. Donation bags are available in the entry of the church. Since the number of bags that we receive is limited, please take only the number you need. If you wish to donate a car or boat, please call Your continued support of the work of the St. Vincent de Paul in our parish and diocese is greatly appreciated. Tree of Life Open leaves are available on the Tree of Life located in the Chapel. Mass Intentions are on a first-come, first-served basis. The stipend offering is $10 per name / per Mass and must be included with the Mass Offering Form. All requests for Mass Intentions must be submitted using the Mass Offering Form and either mailed or submitted to the office in person. 5 Life at St. Patrick Parish Holy Hour - Sponsored by the Legion of Mary, all are welcome to the Holy Hour on Sunday, August 20 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow. Come spend an hour with the Lord. Bundle Sunday - It s that time once again to clean out your closets and make good use of the clothes you no longer wear by donating them to those in need. Edge strives to introduce the youth to the saving power and love of Christ.
