3 ASCENSION OF THE LORD 2 May 28, 2017 REST IN PEACE Please keep in your prayers Irene Bonczyk of our parish who died recently. May she know the fullness of joy that the Risen Lord desires to share with us. Music Concert: On Sunday, June 11 at 3:00, there will be a combined choral concert, Pick Three, in the sanctuary. In sharing our belief in the Holy Trinity, three groups will each be sharing three choral selections and all three groups will join as one to sing three selections together. There will be prelude music before the concert and refreshments served in the parish hall after the concert. Please mark your calendars and invite others to attend as we come together as one to share our talents and our faith. Dear Parishioners, We are so grateful to you for helping us celebrate our 50th Jubilee as Dominican Sisters. What a gift to be a part of the Parish and School community of St. Agnes. Thank you for the inspirational Mass, the beautiful reception, the congratulatory messages, cards, prayers, gifts and hugs. Thank you for the warm welcome you always give to our Springfield Dominican community and the welcome you gave to our families for this special event. We feel blessed and filled with so much gratitude. Thanks for being a part of our 50 years! Your presence in our lives is a reflection of God s love and goodness. Sr. Martha Marie and Sr. Joan PLEASE NOTE: The Church Office will be closed on Monday, May 29 for Memorial Day Holiday. ALSO, there will be NO 5:30 p.m. Mass on May 29, Memorial Day. LETTER FROM THE BISHOP (Retired Diocesan Priests) Dear Friends in Christ, Each year on the feast of Pentecost we rejoice that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to the Church in every age. As we celebrate this feast, I ask you to consider a generous response in the Retired Diocesan Priests Collection to meet the immediate retirement and health care needs of our priests. Please pray for our priests who serve so generously in various apostolates throughout our diocese. Please thank God for all that we have received from our priests who are now retired. Thank you in advance for your support this year. May the Holy Spirit give us every gift we need to build up the Body of Christ in our time and place. With every best wish and prayers, I remain, Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Thomas John Paprocki FIRST FRIDAY JUNE First Friday this month will be on June 2. Masses will be celebrated at 8:15 a.m. and at 12:10 p.m. There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament following the 8:15 Mass, with reposition at noon prior to 12:10 Mass. Please call the church at to register for the class. You only need to take the class one time to be a volunteer.
