1 Royal Lane Baptist Church Diverse People United in Christ THE MOSAIC March 21, 2012 Volume 26 Issue 6 From the Pastor Libba Studdard is alive and well. Libba is 90 and a member of our church, but she slipped through the cracks at some point in recent years. She has a lovely home near the intersection of Inwood and Forest Lane. She is mostly self-sufficient, except for no longer driving. She has been a widow for thirty-five years. She has a daughter in the Houston area, and a daughter-in-law in McKinney (her son died some years ago). She is beautiful, interesting to talk with, and full of memories. Many of her memories are about our church. Her daughter, Judy Hamlet, ed me last week and told me about her mother. She said she knew her mom would appreciate any kind of contact from our church. She was correct. I have a new friend and have uncovered a long-standing church member. On Monday, Connie Bechtol and Connie Treen, intrepid shut-in visitors, are going to see her. She will love them. A pastor can t help but wonder: who else has slipped out of sight, thus, out of mind? A church needs a good memory. But time moves so fast, and we forget. Let us all pray for a better memory, because someone may be waiting for us. David Royal Welcome Class Begins April 15 The Royal Welcome Class is a four-week opportunity for visitors and new members to learn more about our church: its history, its ministries, its mission outreach, and its affiliations.
