1 From the Finance Committee As of Monday, November 21, we have received pledges for 2012 totaling $525,520. This is great news, which we hope and expect will get even better as this year draws to a close. We think it worth mentioning that through the first ten (10) months of this year, we are $49, behind on our pledge giving. Stated differently, we are approximately $50,000 behind where we are budgeted to be through the end of October. Typically, many members who pledge catch up towards the end of the year. Based on historical trends, we have a bit more catching up to do than usual this year. If you are behind please consider doing what you can to get current on your 2011 pledge. If your situation allows, please consider giving more than what you pledged. The amount of pledge offerings received during 2011 has a significant impact on our outlook for next year as we finalize our 2012 budget. Thank you for your continued strong support of RLBC. Jack D. Mullinax, Treasurer Rodney H. Lawson, Chairman, Finance Committee Royal Lane Baptist Church Diverse People United in Christ THE MOSAIC November 23, 2011 Volume 25 Issue 22 Community Thanksgiving Service The next issues of The Mosaic are scheduled for December 7 & 21, The deadline for submissions will be 5:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the date of publication.

3 Christmas Hosting of International Students Friendship International House of Dallas is a program that provides host homes for international students from local universities during the Christmas holidays. Both the students and their host families benefit from shared experiences. Students experience life during the Christmas holidays in an American home instead of in a lonely, almost empty dorm. Host families learn about different customs from other parts of the world and view their own faith traditions in a fresh and meaningful way. Host families come from a cooperative of Baptist churches in the Metroplex, including Royal Lane. Program dates are Monday, December 19, through Monday, January 2. Students stay with a host family, but group activities and transportation are provided by the program for week days. I ask that our whole congregation pray for this program, for the students who will be served, and for each host family. If you can be a host family or would like additional information, please contact Cookie Stokes, (home) (cell), or cookiestokes@sbcglobal.net. Christmas for the Children of West Dallas & "Posada y Piñatas" The Women of the Church are collecting for Christmas for the Children of West Dallas. Children of RLBC are asked to bring toys on December 2 to the Posada y Piñatas. Families and adults, please bring toys to the church by December 4. Cornerstone Baptist Church Homeless Ministry. Thank you to all who donated coats and blankets to the Cornerstone Church Homeless Ministry.
