2 The Roundup Pastor s Corner July is here! Summer is with us and so is VBS I love VBS. As a child I was always excited when VBS time came and through the years have always enjoyed this week in the life of a church. We have a chance to come together as a church family to minister to our kids and the kids in our community. So begin to pray and prepare for VBS as the week approaches us. Also begin to get the word to your kids, grand kids, neighbors, and children/grandchildren of friends. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite folks to church that you have been wanting to reach out to. Blessings, Derik Notes From Susie A Place to Belong that was the title of my devotion for the Juvenile Detention Home visit I made in June. It was based on 1 John 3 and 4 and Rev. 3:20. While it may not have been received as I intended, I felt it was important to share how God has made a way for all of us to belong to him even if we don t fit in other places. Jesus waits patiently (at the door) as in Hunt s painting, for us to surrender to his love; his power; his way; his will. Why would anyone not want to open that door? Easy for me to understand the love of a good father I had one. Easy for me to hear the knocking that s what I was taught to do. But not everyone was as lucky as me to have a good earthly father to teach me about the heavenly father. So the message of belonging to God s family is even more important to share! If you are interested in participating in the JDH ministry, I will be happy to take you the next visit. Do you hear knocking? Blessings, Susie Youth News Upcoming Events for Youth: For more information visit: rmbcyouthministry@gmail.com or contact Cadance Tyler at cadancetyler@gmail.com Bible Study and Fellowship: 9:45 am 6:30 pm Page 2 This summer, youth will be collecting plastic bags for Neighbors Helping Neighbors. If you have any bags, they can be placed in the youth room! July 22-27th: Join us for our week of fun! We will volunteer during VBS, have additional fun activities and prizes during the week, AND we are having a lock-in on Friday, July 27th! If you have not signed up yet to participate, please see Cadance Tyler as soon as possible.
3 Volume 63, Issue 7 Notes of Thanks The RMBC staff would like to thank everyone who participated and volunteered with the directory! Your hard work made it possible. We are genuinely thankful for your time and willingness to help preserve the memories of our church! Blessings, Derik, Susie, Chelsea and Bonnie Thank you for your calls, thoughts, and prayers.
