1 T he Knightly News SEPTEMBER, 2016 M ESSAGE B rothers, FROM THE GRAND KNIGHT: We have started a new fraternal year and already we are off to another busy s eason. We have had an officers meeting to help plan events for the year and b efore we can get the list published changes are taking place. I will try to send out more newsletters during the year to keep you informed on s ome of the events we had and what may be looking up. C ontents: 1. - Message from Grand Knight & P rayers 2. - New Officers, Tree Trimming, & F lood Help 3. - Knight of the Year & Family of the Y ear 4. - Birthdays, Deacon Denzil & T hank you 5-6 Knights in A ction In July we hosted the mid-s tate School of Columbianism with approximately 65 Knights attending. Council 9543 did a great job at providing a meal, snacks and d rinks. Later in the month several of us attended AED/CPR training put on by the M adison Fire Department. This was coordinated by Jim Boyle. The church has an AED device in the work sacristy. If there is enough interest we may try to s chedule a training session for the Council. In July we started out the month with Assembly 2269 and Council 9543 hosting a Knighthood (Fourth) Degree Exemplification. There were about 25 men becoming b anquet. We are holding off on doing more tree trimming till the weather gets a bit cooler. As you can see from the picture (to the left) of our f avorite KC Field agent, the heat can p ut a person down. With the floods affecting so many people in Louisiana our Brother Lance Lee, family and friends stepped up to collect and distribute needed goods. Well d one Lance!!
