2 A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR PRIGGE Whether he is a sinner or not, I don t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see! -John 9:25 Fellow Victorious, The guy quoted above had probably never met Jesus before. Jesus healed him and people freaked out. They couldn t believe that a man who had been blind from birth could suddenly see. A bunch of Pharisees questioned him about how it happened because they were trying to discredit and destroy Jesus. In response to their many questions, the healed man basically says, all I know is what I know. He was blind, and now he could see. Are you freaked out about witnessing? Don t know what to say? Don t know how to answer everyone s questions? No worries. This guy didn t either but that didn t stop him. Just tell what you know. What does Jesus do for you? How does faith in Christ make your life better? Tell what you know, that s all. Here s my witness. I m a sinner. I sin every day. I m so thankful God forgives me so I can forgive myself. I have a deep peace because I know that I will live after death because Jesus rose from the dead. I know God is in control especially when life feels out of control. You don t have to believe me, you don t have to agree, you don t have to like it, but that s what I know. That s my witness. Church Grounds Cleanup New Tuesday Night grounds work opportunity. Doug and others typically do yard work and other activities Tuesday nights around 4:00-5:00 PM. All are invited to come when available and help with some of the work and tasks. Worship Assistants Please consider helping out as a worship assistant. We are currently looking for more help in all areas. It is important to remember that these positions are a vital role to our worship here at Victory Lutheran. We appreciate your assistance! Church Information Flowers for the Altar The Flowers for the Altar sign-up sheet on the kiosk by the office. If there is a special occasion or event or you d just like to beautify the sanctuary, please sign up and let Kay Peters know your arrangement preference (quantity, color, type, price). Tote Bags/Bulletins Tote bags for the younger children are available on the rack in back. Please feel free to use one during the worship service and then return it when done. Children s bulletins are available on the round table by the church entrance. They are directed at ages 3-6. Although children of all ages will enjoy them. Victory Prayer Chain Victory has an Prayer Chain which will lift your specific requests up to God for you. Those who receive the will prayerfully support you in your need with His comfort, love and strength. If you let Pastor or the church office know, your prayer request will be forwarded. 7 BOD Monthly Status Report February 16 th, 2017 In attendance: Vernone Feyereisen, Pastor Prigge, Alice Prigge, Ian Newville, Ethan Grev, Tim Peters and Katie Peters Absent: Doug Scholz, and Garret Grev Pastor called meeting to order; and opened with a devotion Board Status Updates: Financial Secretary: Tim January giving was lower than desired, but coming off of the cushion in December helped Treasurer: Vernone Moved designated funds into Ameriprise account Reported on the mortgage being officially below 400k Discussed what monthly payments will need to be towards the mortgage to get it paid off in the 5 year strategic goal Recording Secretary: Katie Setting a date to meet with Tim, Vernone & James Krause to perform the annual audit Education: Alice Brought up the fact that there are no older age/teen programs however we do not have the kids to support it Attendance has been a lot higher and more regular Pastor s Report: Pastor Discussed ideas to boost our Victory Facebook posts Old Business: New tenant inquiry Discussed intent of the proposed tenant and how it would affect the congregation Decided on next steps being sitting down with potential renter to discuss financials and each parties responsibilities Finalize Lent Meals/Planning Having Jennifer assign families to board members to form teams each taking a Lent meal Delegated the six evening meals and who was facilitating them New Business: Updating our current member directory possibly with photos Pastor closed in Prayer Next Meeting: Thursday March 16th 2017

8 Pastor opened with prayer Victory Lutheran Church Congregational Meeting Minutes February 19 th, 2017 Ethan highlighted our open Board of Directors positions, specifically our Fellowship role and illustrated the particular roles associated with this in order to get members considering serving. Tim gave an overview of what members pledged to give in 2017 and based on our expenses brought to light a Faith gap of just over 100k. Vernone presented financials comparing 2015 to 2016 and announced that our total mortgage balance is now below 400k.
