5 BUDGET The Stewardship Committee has worked extremely hard in putting together a proposed 2017 budget. We all are indebted to them. Please note the following schedule: Sunday, December 4, the budget will be discussed in a Special Called Business Meeting at 6:00 p.m.. Sunday, December 11, during the morning service, a vote will be taken without discussion. Also, we have five weeks left in the 2016 budget year and we have some catching up to do. As of November 20: Year to Date Budget Needs.$ 719, Year to Date Receipts.. $ 664, Therefore, we are $55, behind our needed funds. Let s all help with this so all ministries will be funded. SOMETHING TO PONDER In 1943, during WWII, Sergeant Richard Redding was running wire on a telephone in Sicily while the Allies were engaged in a fierce dogfight. Nazi airplanes were zooming just above the treetops blazing their weaponry, but Redding continued with his critical work to create communication lines. In the heat of battle a voice yelled up from the base of the pole asking if he wasn t afraid of those diving fighters. When Redding replied, Yes sir, the voice asked, Then why are you up there? He shouted, Because I am even more afraid of you, sir. Redding was conversing with Lieutenant General George S. Patton, Jr. and he knew of the leader s determination to push the Germans out of Sicily. There is much to fear in life but our actions and reactions should always be tempered by Who should be feared most. For a Christian, that s always the Lord. The Conviction To Lead, Albert Mohler, 2012, p.154 NOW THAT THANKSGIVING IS OVER I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving. Wherever you had your food and fellowship, I am glad you made it back to church today for a time of Bible study and worship. Now that Thanksgiving is over, we will kickoff the Christmas season tonight with a special service. Join us at 6:00 p.m. as we will be decorating the Christmas tree. Bro. Larry

To give an offering is to give above our tithe to support other ministry endeavors not completely covered in the general fund of our church. Here at FBCO, we have numerous designated funds to which we can all contribute during the course of a year. During the months of October, November and December we will place emphasis on the Lottie Moon Offering - International Mission emphasis, Nepal Offering - A mission team goes once a year from FBC, Vision Continues - Facility improvements and projects and Hope House - a local mission that provides support for people in Blount County.
