Those of you who were here Sunday heard the first of two lessons dealing with what the Scriptures have to say about elders in the church. We are currently looking for additional leaders for this body, and this Sunday, we will be formally opening up that process. You will have a chance to suggest names for consideration. I hope you are praying about this process and that you are carefully considering who might best serve in this role. I know that great opportunities lie ahead in 2019, and I am looking forward to

2 what the Lord will be bringing our way. I want to take one more opportunity to thank you for the outpouring of cards and sympathy at the passing of Joanna s mother. Several of you came to the funeral home, and I know that a number of prayers have gone up on behalf of our family over the past couple of weeks. That has been a tremendous comfort during this time, and it is greatly appreciated. I am thankful that I had the blessing of a loving and supportive mother-in-law who deeply loved the Lord. Her influence will continue to live on in the lives of so many for years to come. -gs- Upcoming Events Tomorrow, Thursday, January 10 - Parkinson's Awareness Meeting, 3pm. If you are interested in going, see Joel Ragland. Sunday, January 13 - Youth and Family Ministry potluck and meeting, 11:30am. Drinks will be provided, but please bring food items. We will be discussing the 2019 schedule and activities. Friday, January 18-Sunday, January 21 - Evangelism University for our Youth Group. Sunday, January 20 - Elementary Department meeting. Church News Dorcas Meeting - The Dorcas Ministry will meet this Thursday at 6pm. At this meeting, we will learn to crochet. If you already know how to crochet, you may work on another project. See Diana McArthur if you have any questions. Elementary Department Meeting - On Sunday, January 20, we will have a meeting with all volunteers of the Elementary Department and anyone who would like to volunteer in the Elementary Department. The meeting will be in the Fellowship Hall immediately following our morning worship service and should last about 15 minutes. See Ann Love Judd if you have any questions.

4 Desserts for The Well - The Well is in need of desserts for January. If you can make a dessert, you may leave it in the church kitchen labeled "For The Well." Basketball Open Gym Friday Night and Saturday Morning We now have two times a week for Basketball Open Gym. You may come on Friday nights 6:45-9pm or on Saturday mornings 8:15-11am. Both times are open to all members and the community. Wedding Shower We are hosting a Wedding Shower for Molly McKinney on Sunday, January 20. She and Jamie Tyler Puente are getting married on Saturday, January 26. The shower will be in the Fellowship Hall, 1-2:30pm. She is registered at Walmart and Target.

5 Saturday, February 9 8:30am We are hosting a Men's Ministry Breakfast on Saturday, February 9, at 8:30am. This is open to all men: fathers, sons, young, and old. We want to continue to connect in 2019! Several of our men will be preparing the meal. Come enjoy the fellowship, friendship, and food! Baby "Tub Shower" Ellie Shamblin We want to welcome Ellie Shamblin, daughter of Tanner and Elizabeth Shamblin, to our Trenton Crossing family with a "Tub Shower." A pink tub is at the Welcome Center through this Sunday to collect wipes and gift cards. Ellie is the granddaughter of BJ and Jill Worthington and greatgranddaughter of Sylvia Perry.

6 Looking for a Kidney Scott Rawlins is in need of a kidney. We are trying to help him get the word out and find a donor. A GoFundMe account has been created to collect money to fund a billboard advertisement for Scott. We need to collect $3,000 for 3 months of advertisement. Memorial Donations A donation was made in the name of Hardin Harris to the F.U.E.L. Ministry by Barbee Allen. Several donations were made in the memory of Mildred Joyce, mother of Joanna Sikes: Joyce and Elijah Johnson made a donation to the F.U.E.L. Ministry, Wilton and Glenda McKinney made a donation to the World Bible School Ministry, and Granville and Patsy Deen made a donation to the church.
