Mss Grenels, the honorary member of the class, was escorted by Vrgna Vncent, through the arched hands, hands rased n a pledge of loyalty to Mss Grenels and the Junor Class. After ther Presdent presented the honorary member, the class sang wth the enthusasm of jolly Junors ther voces swellng wth prde as they looked at Mss Grenels and sang, "How we'll love you and to you be true." They meant that, too, dd those eghty-four Junors. Tuesday evenng at 0:5 the class entertaned Mss Grenels and thetr Senor grls n the Recreaton Hall. Mss Grenels was so rushed durng the dancng that she could only smle that smle of hers and say, "Why why grls, ths s just wonderful." An mpromptu program was rendered. Vrgna Potts sang the "Old Oaken Bucket", "Down by the Old Mll Stream" Eleanor Bennett sang, "Lady, Be Good," and Vrgna Vncent sang, "A Pal That Love". Oh yes, we had punch! We had yells and songs. We had a rp-roarng good tme! ALUMNAE TO HOLD A CARNVAL SOON All Organzatons Are nvted to Take Part The Farmvlle Chapter of the Alum- nae Assocaton s to gve a carnval the frst part of December n the gymnasum. Several years ago the Alumnae had a carnval n whch all the organzatons n school who wsh- ed, took part. t was a great success n fact, such a success that they were requested to repeat t well, they wated awhle to repeat t, but they are dong t ths year and on a much larger scale., At a meetng of representatves from all the organzatons Mss Mary Clay Hlner nvted each one to take part. There wll be rng performances and sde shows. For the best rng peformance, th e contest s or,en to all, a prze of fve dollars ($5.00) wll be gven, and for the second best performance a prze of two dollars ($2.00). The organzatons besde putng on rng performances may each have a Bde show of some knd. Everyone has been very enthusastc so far, and f the classes, clubs etc., want to have ther choce of stunts, they had better say so at once, «H everyone wll have an equal chance. MSS MYRTLE E. GRENELS MSS MYRTLE E, &RENELS T -u Mss Grenels s an alumna of our college, havng graduated here n 908 after four years n ths school. For two years, from 90-92, she taught n Scott County n the mountans of Vrgna. n 92, she was an nstructor n the boys" State Reform School at Laurel, Vrgna. From 94-99, she was n the Normal Tranng Department of the Manassas Hgh School. From 99-92, she was the Rural Supervsor n Cumberland County, supervsed the Sxth Grade, and Hgh School here n the Tranng School. The years of '-8 found Mss Grenels n Peabody. where she receved her B. S. Snce 923, Mss Grenels has been at the head of the Geography Department of our College. Work wth her has ndeed been a pleasure and a proft to all students, and her work s alve and very nterestng. RURAL EDUCATON WORK Mr. Robnson, a specalst n Rural educaton of the Unted States Hureau of Educaton, recently vsted the followng schools: W rsham. Rce. John Randolph and Cumberland. A. membershp campagn was put on, and resulted n nearly every new grl here jonng, all the Cabnet was delghted. Of course the nextthng on the program was the Fnance Campagn. Perhaps the results of the membershp drve had gv a the Cabnet toa hjrh hopes for the fnance drve, anyway, they are greatly dsapponted. The most dsappontng thng was that the old grls ddn't do any better than the new grls. Have you done your part'.' The purpose of the Y. W. ('.
