Here is your chance to update YOUR record for our annual Guide Book & Directory (if you haven t already done so). It is time for us to update our database with any changes, additions, or deletions that may have occurred in YOUR family over the past year. Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved? Are you preparing to move soon? Are all of your children still at home and are they all included in your membership record? Do you want your record published? If you have not already informed the Church Office about changes to your record, please let us know now so that the information in the Guide Book & Directory is correct. The Parish Office number is THE FIRST STEPS TO BECOMING CATHOLIC A number of people who were not Catholic before coming into full communion with the church have said that what drew them to the Catholic Church was the Eucharist. As we reflect on recognizing Jesus in the Breaking of the Bread, think for a moment whether there is someone who is not Catholic you could invite to Mass and to explore what else the Catholic Faith might hold for them. Or perhaps it is you yourself who would like to know more. We would be so happy to walk with you or your friend on this journey starting now, just give Cyndi a call in the parish office, Or you may send an to cmarlow@stbernardlou.com.
5 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Take a journey to Eygpt this summer... Children in grade K - 6th grade (the grade they are entering in the fall) are invited to join us for three days of fun as we explore "Egypt: Joseph's journey from prison to palace" VBS. July 11, 12, and 13, from 9:00 AM-Noon. The cost is $20 per child and pre-registration is required. Please visit VBSRegistration2018. Registrations close July 1st or when all available slots are filled, as we have very limited space. Teens (7th grade and up) and adults can join the fun as volunteers. Contact Cyndi Marlow in the parish office ext. 125 or Patty Abell at patricia.abell@louisville.edu We are still collecting donations of snacks and drinks. Suggested items are bottled water, juice boxes, pre-packaged snacks like chips, cookies, crackers, etc. (please no peanut butter due to possible allergies!) Please bring those donations to church and label them VBS or drop off at the parish office. Time to set the stage!! VBS needs people who would like to help with creating decorations for our "Egyptian" theme and setting up decorations for VBS the Tuesday night before VBS starts (July 10). This is a great position for those who are not available during the day to still be an integral part of VBS. If you d like to help out, please contact Cyndi Marlow in the parish office, or Patty Abell, VBS Director, at patricia.abell@louisville.edu. FAMILY SERVICE PROJECT SNACKS IN SACKS Mark your calendar for Friday, July 27th from 6:00pm- 7:00pm. We will be hosting SNACKS IN SACKS for the Street Reach ministry in our gym! We are in need of MANY donations and volunteers to make this event successful. Items needed are gallon size ziplock bags (think Dollar Tree) and individually wrapped snack items (Vienna sausages, pop top/pouches of tuna, beef sticks, protein bars, applesauce cups, chips, crackers, snack cakes, cereal bars, pudding cups, etc.) I also ask that in addition to your snack donations, that each family also bring either a case of water OR a $5 McDonalds giftc ard. However snacks are most important because we will be putting what is donated into sacks and if we don't receive many donations, it will end quickly. Can't make it?? Please consider donating some items for this service project, you can items leave in the back of church marked Youth Ministry, Kari Ogle. Questions?? St. John Center helps homeless men find housing to end their homelessness for good. Tenants are also given intensive, supportive, ongoing case management in order to help them succeed. Our success rates far exceed national averages. This program could not function without the support of our landlords, and we're always looking for new landlords to connect with!
