FAMILY FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! As the summer days wind down, it is now time to think about another exciting year of Family Faith Formation. Family Faith Formation is provided for those families whose children are in grades K - 8 that do not attend Catholic Schools. Faith Formation helps children to learn and grow in their Catholic Faith life and prepares children and families to celebrate their sacraments. The sessions are held two Sundays a month starting in September and are offered between the Sunday Mass times. 5 AN INVITATATION TO SECRET SISTERS Secret Sisters is a wonderful group of ladies that meet monthly to celebrate our Christian sisterhood by providing encouragement, friendship and faith with each other during our fun-filled gatherings. It is a one year commitment to be an anonymous friend to a lady from our group that is randomly selected for you. You correspond with and treat this lady as a secret pal/friend for that year. We meet the third Wednesday of each month from 7pm 9pm with light refreshments and games. Our new year begins in September 2018 and we d like to invite all ladies (18 yrs and older) to join our fun-filled group by signing up in August. Registration forms will be available in July/August on the tables as you exit church. Please return the completed forms by August 15, 2018, and place them in the basket marked SECRET SISTERS that is located in the back of church. AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE OUR GIFTS The new school year is fast approaching and with it, many families in our community are making the commitment to send their children to our wonderful school. This commitment is made on many levels; spiritual, educational, financial to name a few. For some families the financial part is easy, for some it is a stretch, and for some it is a leap of faith. We would like to establish an Adopt-A-Child program here for our school. With this program, we would ask those of you who have been blessed financially to contribute to a fund to help a St. Bernard student. Many school families, for whatever reason, simply cannot afford the education they long for their child(ren.) You can designate a specific child you would like to help, or you can generally contribute to the fund. You can contribute either through the weekly collections or on-line at the St. Bernard website. He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me. (Mark 9:36-37) FAMILY SERVICE PROJECT SNACKS IN SACKS Mark your calendar for Friday, July 27th from 6:00pm- 7:00pm. We will be hosting SNACKS IN SACKS for the Street Reach ministry in our gym! We are in need of MANY donations and volunteers to make this event successful. Items needed are gallon size ziplock bags (think Dollar Tree) and individually wrapped snack items (Vienna sausages, pop top/pouches of tuna, beef sticks, protein bars, applesauce cups, chips, crackers, snack cakes, cereal bars, pudding cups, etc.) I also ask that in addition to your snack donations, that each family also bring either a case of water OR a $5 McDonald s gift card. However snacks are most important because we will be putting what is donated into sacks and if we don't receive many donations, it will end quickly. Can't make it?? 6 SAFE ENVIRONMENT WORKSHOP The Archdiocese of Louisville requires that all adults who work with children in our parish communities attend a Honor Thy Children Safe Environment training session and have a background check. Background check forms are in the Parish Office. The following workshop dates are on the calendar. You do not need an appointment, just come 15 minutes early and register. Please note: Children are not allowed to attend this training.
