5 BECOMING CATHOLIC Are you or someone you know interested in becoming Catholic? Are you (or they) unsure? That's why we begin with a process called Inquiry. This is an informal time for asking questions about the Catholic Church and discerning whether this is where God is calling you. The Inquiry period varies for each person. Not everyone who participates in this stage becomes Catholic. Whatever your reason or interest level, ALL ARE WEL- COME, ALL THE TIME. Inquiry sessions are on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the Month. If those times don't work - let us know and we can work with you. Call Cyndi in the parish office, ext. 125 to get registered. ADULT FORMATION Our Adult Formation committee is pleased to present Bishop Robert Barron's study Eucharist: Sacred Meal, Sacrifice, and Real Presence for our next adult study. Christ is alive and fully present in the Eucharist. Join us as we delve into the source and summit of our Faith with this DVD-based program: Eucharist: Sacred Meal, Sacrifice, and Real Presence. This spiritual study will give you a deeper understanding of the precious gift of Christ s body, blood, soul, and divinity that you can receive at each and every Mass. We will meet on Mondays - June 12, 19 and 26 at 7:00 PM in the preschool house (upstairs), There is no fee. Registration is not required. If you have any questions you can contact Cyndi Marlow in the parish office Please join us! ADULT FORMATION SURVEY At St. Bernard we seek to address the diversity of adult learning needs with a variety of faith formation content, experiences, activities, programs, and resources. It will be with our shared interests, needs, life stages and the activities of adults in today s modern world that we seek to build and nurture the faith life of every adult. You can help us to identify the processes and framework for the development of adult faith formation in our parish by answering a few questions on this online survey: For a paper copy of this survey contact Cyndi Marlow in the parish office - cmarlow@stbernardlou.com or PRAYER INTENTIONS Please keep the following parishioners in your prayers: George Ballard, Terese Bennett, Pat Bohannon, Helen Burns, Joyce Downs, Jessica Drury, Carol Flannery, Larry Fogarty, Janice Fowler, Bridget Harman, Jim Hennessy, Elana Hohl, Rick Holtman, Eileen Kremer, Delores Lawson. Janis & Sonny Lucas, John Manning, Nicholas Manning, Carol Montgomery, Irene Mueller, Rita Riggs, Nick Sanders, Theresa Stopher, Betty Striegel, Nataley Thompson, Tommy Walsh.

6 SAFE ENVIRONMENT WORKSHOP The Archdiocese of Louisville requires that all adults who work with children in our parish communities attend a Honor Thy Children Safe Environment training session and have a background check. Background check forms are in the Parish Office. The following workshop dates are on the calendar. You do not need an appointment, just come 15 minutes early and register. Please note: Children are not allowed to attend this training. June 19th - 6:30 p.m. - St. Leonard - School Gymnasium July 10th - 6:30 p.m. - St. Agnes - Parish Center August 9th - 5:00 p.m. - Holy Trinity - Multipurpose Room CRITICAL CHILDREN'S FOOD SHORTAGE The children of families served by Fern Creek Highview United Ministries are now on Summer Vacation BUT that means they will NOT be receiving any low/no cost meals at school. As a result, the food inventory in the Fern Creek Highview United Ministries Food Pantry will fall rapidly as the summer progresses. PLEASE HELP! If you are a frequent donor during the year, THANK YOU and please increase your donations if at all possible. If you are not usually a donor, this is the time to step up and FEED THE CHIL- DREN this summer. Any food item is appreciated but they need high protein foods like peanut butter, canned pasta with meat, tuna, mac and cheese and hearty soups and are always good choices. Just drop them in the baskets at the doors of Church. MARRIAGE MOMENTS Marriage is often made up of two "stiff-necked people." (Exodus 34-9) What are you most stubborn about in your relationship? It's natural to want to get one's way. However, sometimes it's better to give way as a sign of love. By Susan Vogt, COMMUNION MINISTER FORMATION Communion Minister Formation is a two-session program for those preparing to serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion in their parishes. Each two-hour session will include the Theology of the Eucharist, Liturgical Ministry and the Practical Aspects of the Role of the Communion Minister. This formation Program will fulfill the training portion of the canonical mandate required for Extraordinary Ministers. Cost: Free Funded by CSA. For more information, call , or worship@archlou.org. June 14 & 21-7:00-9:00 p.m. - St. Francis Xavier June 19 & 20-1:00-3:00 p.m. - Flaget Center Chapel UPDATE SESSIONS Communion Minister Update Sessions are for those ministers needing a mandate renewal.
