3 Feast Day June 13, 2018 St. Anthony, Consoler of the Afflicted JESUS THE TEACHER Beloved St. Anthony of Padua, Patron of the lost and Faithful son of St. Francis, intercede for me as I walk through this world seeking the will of God for my life and the peace that comes from surrendering myself into His loving arms. Beseech Our Lord, whom you briefly held here on earth and who now holds you eternally, to restore all that has been lost in my life and all that sin has taken from me. Please pray for me that I might be set on fire for the beauty of the Word of God as you were and that the words of the Lord Jesus Christ be my very life s breath. Help me, O dear St. Anthony, to lose myself in the eternal embrace of the Holy Trinity and so be found in the love that enlivens the heavens. Through Christ our Lord. 4 School News 2018 Peeking into Music Throughout the year students in Pre K to second grade have been working on beat keeping activities, singing games and playing percussion instruments. Grade two has enjoyed the introduction to recorders this year in preparation for third grade recorder curriculum. Grades three to six have been working on melody and rhythm reading and are applying these skills to playing the recorder. Students in music class worked very hard on preparing for our Spring Concert that was held on Friday, June 1 st. We had many enthusiastic singers this year. Band has made wonderful progress since our Christmas concert. We were so excited to perform for you. It is never too early to start thinking about joining band. The students in grades three to five will be treated to a band instrument demo very soon and will have an opportunity to try out some instruments in music class. Mrs. Langlois Summer Break is upon us It s been a wonderful school year and we look forward to beginning our official transition to becoming Cardinal Lacroix Academy. It s with mixed emotions that we say good-bye to our St. Anthony School 6 th graders on Wednesday, June 13 th and the rest of the school on Friday, June 15 th.
