4 St Mark s Gospel Bible Study is ongoing Feel free to jump in and join us in the Belford Room after the 9:30am Sunday Mass for coffee and donuts as we take a look at St. Mark s Gospel We are also using Praying with St. Mark s Gospel by Magnificat Press. Books are available to all parishioners for purchase in the office or at Bible study for $10 or at the Bible study. 33 Days to Morning Glory Book Retreat begins this week! Information for all those registered for the retreat. Books may be picked up after all Masses this weekend. November 5 is the day to begin the retreat readings, starting with Day 1 in the book and continuing for 33 days. For those attending the group meetings, the first meeting will be Monday, November 5, at 6:30 pm in the church hall, with meetings every Monday through December 3. On Saturday, December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Mass will be at 9:00am at Sacred Heart and all who made the retreat, either on your own or attending meetings, are invited to attend Mass and after Mass to make our consecration together. During the month of October, Sacred Heart hosted a variety of activities. Be sure to check out all of the photos from these events by visiting our website or Facebook page. Thank you to all who participated in our October food drive to support the Upper Valley Haven. Through your generosity we were able to donate over 184 pounds of food! Our line is up and running! Pie Baking Students in grades 5-12 are welcome to join us after class on November 18th in the Sacred Heart kitchen to bake pies for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. We will continue baking until our goal of 100 pies is met, and anticipate wrapping up at 3:00pm. Come for an hour or stay for the afternoon. Adult helpers are welcome! 5 November 4-10, 2018 National Vocation Awareness Week is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations. A prayer for Vocations O God, Father of all Mercies, Provider of a bountiful Harvest, send Your Graces upon those You have called to gather the fruits of Your labor; preserve and strengthen them in their lifelong service of you. Open the hearts of Your children that they may discern Your Holy Will; inspire in them a love and desire to surrender themselves to serving others in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ. Teach all Your faithful to follow their respective paths in life guided by Your Divine Word and Truth. Through the intercession of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, all the Angels, and Saints, humbly hear our prayers and grant Your Church's needs, through Christ, our Lord. Amen. Annual Veterans Drive: November 10-11, 2018 Our annual Veterans Drive for inpatients and homeless veterans will be held on the weekend of November Sacred Heart parishioners have been very generous in past years for which the VA Hospital and veterans have been so grateful. List of Needs: men's deodorant, disposable razors, small tubes of denture adhesive, toothpaste, chapstick, small shave cream, adult craft kits, department store gift cards in small increments such as $20 each, and new men's sweat pants and sweat shirts size large and X-large. Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me. - Mt Do you need a ride to Mass? Are you unable to make it to Mass and need Eucharist brought to you?
