Contact us through our website or by phone PRAYING ON PENNACOOK ST. Maybe it was the warm sunny weather on May 2 that made people cancel their appointments at Planned Parenthood. At 1:30pm, sidewalk counselors saw less than half the usual number of women going in. The week before, a young woman walked across the parking lot in the heavy rain to tell them why she was there. She stood under their umbrella and told her sad story. She didn t want to be there, but her family and others told her abortion was her only option.. She was living in a sober house and was wearing a tracking device with a court date approaching. She needs to find a job and stay clean. She lost custody of her son and was trying to get visitation rights. Her brother and his girlfriend drove her to PP and after the rain stopped, he came outside to talk. He said the family decided this was the best thing for her and they raised $100 for the abortion and PP said they would accept that amount. He said his girlfriend was 12 week pregnant and they were going to be keeping their baby. When asked how he thought his sister will feel when his baby is born 2 weeks after her baby would have been, he lowered his head and walked away. 4 School News 2018 Cardinal Lacroix Academy, a parish school of St. Anthony of Padua We are enrolling for next school year! If you are interested in learning about our school and taking a tour, please give our office a call at St. Anthony of Padua Students Head To World Robotics Competition Our students won two awards and finished in second place overall (out of 39 teams!) at the NH/VT VEX IQ State Robotics Championships on February 18. Fifth grader, Kyle Larochelle and third grader, Evan Jeffers -Roper received the Build Award for the high quality construction of their robot, effective use of materials and understanding how to work as a team to develop it. They also won the 1 st Place Teamwork Challenge Alliance for Robot Performance. This qualified them for the VEX IQ World Competition in Louisville, Kentucky. During April break, they attended the World Competition and came 30 th out of 80 teams. We are so proud of them! It took a lot of time and dedication for them to reach that level of competition.
