I would like to remind everyone that every Tuesday at 7:30PM is the recitation of the Rosary in the Chapel of the Holy Cross in the Church. This is a beautiful and powerful prayer of the Church...I would encourage all to make an effort to pray the rosary here or at home. It would be great, if you recite the rosary at home, that you do so on Tuesdays at 7:30PM so that we are united with those who come here. ANTHONY CANDLES Next week-end we will have St. Anthony Candles for sale. The feast of St. Anthony of Padua is Wednesday June 13 th. PRAYING ON PENNACOOK STREET Most weeks Planned Parenthood accepts appointments for medical/chemical abortions on weekdays other than Wednesday ( the day typically reserved for surgical abortions). But on a recent Wednesday, PP scheduled chemical abortions in addition to surgical ones. PP makes more money with less involvement when they give women RU 486 (Mifepristone) abortions pills. That Monday, a fire engine and then an ambulance arrived at PP s rear door. A woman was taken out on a stretcher and put into the ambulance. Please consider praying outside PP and sharing information with women about alternatives, including Abortion Pill Reversal and services provided by the Pennacook Pregnancy Center. 4 School News 2018 Peeking into Grade 5 The fifth graders just finished reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. They learned about character, setting, and events as well as discovering the deeper meaning of the story. This novel is really a story about our Catholic faith and beliefs. C.S. Lewis wrote the Narnia series in order to teach children about the Bible and their faith. In the book the students witness Aslan, the Great Lion, exchange his life in order to save Edmund. After being put to death, Aslan rises from the dead in order to save Narnia. Aslan is supposed to represent Jesus, who also died to save us from our sins. During this past Lenten season, we used this book to help us remember our faith and teach us how to be better in all that we do. The fifth graders also practiced writing summaries throughout this book about the events that happened in each chapter. Miss Perry Cardinal Lacroix Community Night To bring the St. Anthony and St. Casimir families together, we will be hosting a community night on Thursday, June 7 th. There will be Ice cream, school tours, activities and more. We want to thank the parents who volunteered to plan this event.
