Published by Trinity Baptist Church Full-Time Associate Minister Position By Dr. Ryan Wilson As many of you know by now, the Deacons have unanimously approved a recommendation from the Personnel Committee to set up an ad hoc committee to hire a second full-time Associate Minister. The Personnel Committee is finalizing the job description which will include youth, college, and some administrative duties. In light of our church s desire to continue to minister to students and in light of our youth and budget numbers, the Personnel Committee is excited about this investment into the future ministry to students. To employ a full-time minister, our bylaws require an ad hoc committee; and after talking with Preston about it, he understands the implications of this. Preston can apply for the job along with others who are interested. This will give the church and Preston, who graduates from seminary in December, clarity about his future with Trinity. The Associate Minister Search Committee will consist of five individuals. On April 22, The deacons selected Jason Crawford and Charlie Thompson to serve as the deacon representatives on the search committee. We have taken nominations from the church at-large from April and will have a ballot on May 13 to select three at-large members from the congregation (absentee ballots will be available in the office beginning Wednesday, May 9). Please be in prayer about this process!

3 Rebecca Sires Children s Corner /edisto5@att.net Nic at Night was a huge success with 36 kids participating this year. Thank you to every person who helped make this musical possible. It is a very big commitment for the kids as well as parents and volunteers. It would not be possible without the amazing people who make up Trinity Baptist Church and our community. God is so good. Music and Missions Night will be Wednesday, May 23. This will be our last Wednesday night for the summer. Come hear what our kiddos have been doing all year in Choir, GA/RA s, and Mission Friends. EOY pool party Sunday June 3, 12:30-3:30 at the Hydrick s pool. VBS is scheduled for Sunday, June 24-Thursday, June 28. Volunteer and signups will be Sunday, June 10, in the Gathering Area immediately following worship. Camp Prism dates are July 10-13, for completed 3-5 grades. Must sign up by May 30. Mark your calendars. This is a very hectic time of the year with spring sports, school, work, end-of-year testing, church activities, and life. Please take a moment each day to thank God for all this craziness. Try to enjoy each moment. Pray about it and thank God for giving you this time to be busy. One day it will calm down and we will wonder where the time went. You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power. Revelation 4:11A Preston Cooley Youth News Hello everyone! What an exciting time of the year: graduation, Choir Tour, Passport, VBS, Sports Camp, pool party, chorus concerts, and more! While some of those events are still a couple months away, it is time to start planning and signing up for some of our summer activities. And yes, that means something important is coming to a close: school is almost out! I know your youth are as excited to be out for the summer as I am. Summer is a great time in the life of our church. We have so many events and opportunities for fellowship, worship, and missions, especially for our youth group. Here are some important dates for the next few months: - May 2 is Project Ruth Night at the church. Many of our youth have been involved in the Romania mission s efforts, and we will take part that night with the rest of the church. - May 6 will be our Choir Tour Meeting. It will take place in the Fellowship Hall at 11:30. Please plan to attend if your youth is going on this trip. Choir Tour signups are also underway with a $50 deposit required to reserve your spot. - May 20 is Graduation Sunday. We will honor our seniors and celebrate their accomplishments as they prepare for college (and the military). May 20 is also our last Sunday night together. - May 23 is our last Wednesday night together until the fall. - June 1 will be our Summer Kick-off at the Wilsons house. We will spend the afternoon at the pool, grill out burgers and hot dogs, with juniors and seniors going out for ice cream that night. - June 3 is our Passport Meeting. It will take place in the Fellowship Hall at 11:30. Please plan to attend if your youth is going on this trip. - Choir Tour is June VBS is June Passport is July Signups have begun and the deposit to ensure your spot is $50. - Sports Camp is July Any youth willing to help are welcome to come!

4 Music, Missions, and More Rev. Tony Vincent Project Ruth Marathon: Wednesday, May 2, here at Trinity Dust off your walking shoes; it is time to get moving! Our usual Wednesday night activities will take a one-week hiatus as we gather to celebrate 26 years of Project Ruth, our mission s partner in Bucharest, Romania, on Wednesday, May 2. We ll gather at 5:30 for our Fellowship Meal, but this won t be one of Harold s signature Wednesday night meals. We ll enjoy a meal similar to the ones that our gracious hosts at the Ruth School have shared with us! All proceeds for the meal will go directly to the ministry in Bucharest. After the meal, we ll share some stories about the good work going on at Project Ruth, and then we ll head outside for a churchwide marathon! No, we won t be going 26.2 miles! We ll take a walk together around the block adjacent to the church in order to celebrate the marathon-like 26 years of ministry at Project Ruth. Even if this is a bit out of your comfort zone, come take a light walk with us to celebrate! If you think about it, wear RED, YELLOW, or BLUE, the colors of the Romanian flag, as we celebrate on May 2! Upcoming LLL Event for Seniors Thursday, May 24, departing 9:00 am We ll visit the Table Rock Tea Plantation for a guided tour of their working tea farm. Following the tour, we ll enjoy lunch and ice cream at Aunt Sue s. Cost: lunch. Wednesday, June 20, 10:30 am We ll gather for a covered-dish lunch in our Fellowship Hall. Program: New opportunities for healthy eating at home (with some new healthy options at lunch). Great Music in May! Take note of these opportunities to hear great music in our community! We are Generous Giving excited to, once again, join with other CBF of SC churches and individuals to give to the Beverly Greer Offering for State Missions. 5 GA and Women s Ministry Formal Tea and Luncheon Saturday, May 5, :00 am-1:00 pm We are quickly approaching the end of another wonderful year at Trinity Baptist Preschool. The staff and I would like to thank the church for all the support we have received this year, especially your prayers. We are blessed to have such a wonderful church staff and members. Our End of the Year program will be on May 17 at 6:30 in the Sanctuary. This year our program will be Super Heroes of the Bible. Come out and join us! We would love to have you.
