8 Middle School Minyan This fun and engaging minyan was created to encourage the children s active involvement in the Shabbos morning davening by offering them the opportunity to participate and lead. The goal is to have all participants acquire fluency and confidence in the various aspects of davening in Shul. Participants will enjoy a parsha Q & A plus a wonderful hot kiddush. 10 Weekly 10 MONDAY MUSIC with SUSAN BAYTOTS 8 week session Mondays, October 27, 2014 December 15, 2014 Time: 9:30am 10:00am Age: Newborn to 3 years old Location: 3rd floor classroom # 1 Cost: $112 members, $128 non members A rhythmic adventure using songs, instruments, dance and movement, scarves, parachutes, balls... ART / JEWELRY MAKING N MORE 8 week session Mondays, October 27, 2014 December 15, 2014 Time: 6:15pm 7:00pm Grades 1-3 7:15pm 8:00pm Grades 4-6 Location: West Wing classroom # 1 Cost: $55 members, $65 non members Give your child the creative, relaxed, fun outlet that will surely be enjoyed. Watch them produce priceless pieces which you will treasure forever. Each week their self confidence will grow as they bring home unique arts and crafts projects taught by a certified art instructor. Guaranteed they will beg to attend the winter session with their new best friends. BAYTEEN CHAVRUSA DINE N LEARN Continuous Mondays, starting October 27th, 2014 Time: 6:00pm 7:30pm Age: Grades 7 and up Location: BOYS: West Wing classroom # 2 GIRLS: West Wing classroom # 3 No cost: Monthly tax receiptable donations to the program appreciated. Enjoy a different dinner each week. Listen to a 20 minute shiur given by various members of the BAYT, then learn with a chavrusa for 30 minutes. Don t have a chavrusa?... We will set it up for you. Separate rooms for boys and girls. Weekly sponsorships available.
11 Programs TUESDAY NEW CHESS CLUB 7 week session Tuesdays, October 28, 2014 December 9, 2014 Time: 6:30pm 7:30pm Age: All Levels Invited to attend Location: West Wing classroom # 2 Cost: $36 members, $45 non members This program is both for beginners and those who already know how to play but want to improve their game. Learn different opening moves, how to strategize at the beginning of the game, in the middle and finally how to beat your opponent. Chess is a lot of fun when you know how to play it well... great for your mind too. This year the chess club will be instructed by David Miller, an electrical engineer who was taught at the age of 5 to play chess by his father in Poland. HOMEWORK / TUTOR group of 4 sessions Tuesdays, beginning October 28, 2014 Time: 6:00pm 7:00pm Grades 1-3 7:15pm 8:15pm Grades 4 & 5 Only 5 spaces available in each session Location: BAYT, in the Jarvis Freedman Library Cost: $18 per session (minimum 4 sessions) 1st session no charge / assessment (pay for 3) Is your child struggling with the basics in reading, writing and math? If you have wanted to hire a tutor but found the fees out of your budget... group tutoring is one great solution. The 1:5 ratio gives your child the individual attention they need in a small group setting. Assisting your child by filling in the missing conceptual gaps that are hindering success. Using Montessori materials which are interactive, hands on materials to teach core subjects of math, reading and writing for students in grades 1 5. Michelle Nauenberg (MEd Montessori education), leads the homework / tutor program. 11

14 12 BAT MITZVAH PROGRAM Tuesdays, mid October until mid May Time: 7:00pm Location: Moshe and Mania Gruda Bais Medrash Aspects of the program include learning Megillat Rut with Rabbi Korobkin, developing a Dvar Torah, a leadership workshop, chesed activities, a holocaust awareness program, an art activity, learning public speaking skills, and simcha dancing. The program culminates in a beautiful celebration where each Bat Mitzvah gets the opportunity to present her Dvar Torah. NEW BAR MITZVAH PROGRAM Tuesdays, beginning October 28, 2014 Time: 7:30pm Location: West Wing classroom # 1 Mazel Tov! The Bar Mitzvah year is an exciting one for your son and the entire family. It is a year of spiritual and physical growth. This new program will be offered to all boys entering grade 7, born in The Bar Mitzvah program will consist of Shabbat experiences in our Middle School Minyan, public speaking sessions, learning hilchos tefillin with Rabbi Korobkin, and various chessed opportunities. There will also be a special Father and Son social event. The program will culminate with a special celebration for families, where the boys will be able to highlight their skills. The participants of this program will be twinned with bar mitzvah boys in Boys Town Jerusalem. The program will take place on Tuesday evenings and select Shabbatot. Schedule to follow shortly. 15 WEDNESDAY ZUMBATOMIC 7 week session Wednesdays, October 29th 2014 December 10th, 2014 Time: 6:00pm 6:45pm Age: Grades 4-6 Girls Only Location: BAYT 3rd floor classrooms 2 and 3 Cost: $65 members, $80 non members Zumba with Debbie! Classes are a fun high-energy dance/fitness party packed with kid-friendly routines and all the music kids love to groove to with their friends like hip hop, reggaeton, top 40 and more! Parents love Zumbatomic because of the benefits it has on kids; increasing their focus and self-confidence, boosting metabolism and enhancing coordination. BAYTEEN ZUMBA (Girls Only) 7 week session Wednesdays, October 29th 2014 December 10th, 2014 Time: 7:00pm 7:45pm Age: all teen girl class Location: BAYT 3rd floor classrooms 2 and 3 Cost: $65 members $80 non members Zumba classes are awesome! The reason is simple: Every class feels like a party! Come join me and you'll see what I mean. You don't even have to know how to dance. Just move your body and follow my lead. It's easy! Schedule will be sent out mid October. Playoffs begin Wednesday following Pesach until mid May. Banquet and trophy presentations following playoffs. Registration NOW OPEN! If spots available, registration will be open after September 28th to non members. It can be a blast. Do you like to learn by doing? This is just the place. You can learn to tie knots, set up a tent, shoot a bow and arrow (archery). Have you ever cooked a meal on a campfire? Sent a secret code to a buddy? Played Ultimate? Hiked? Earn rewards for doing these things in Cub Scouts. A WORLD OF ADVENTURE 14

They run all year round and offer adventures that youth will remember for a lifetime SUNDAY BAYTEEN BOYS - JEWISH PHILOSOPHY SHIUR continuous Sundays, 12:00 Noon 1:00pm Age: High School Boys Location: West Wing Library No Cost: Tax receiptable donations gladly accepted A Shiur in Jewish Philosophy based on the writings of the Chazon Ish in his sefer vbunt iujycu Program is for teens and young adults going to or coming back from Israel. 18 16 BROWNIES, GIRL GUIDES & PATHFINDERS Continuous bi-weekly Sundays, currently in session until mid May Location: 3rd floor classrooms 2 & 3 Girl Guides of Canada, the organization of choice for young girls, makes a positive difference in the life of every girl who experiences Guiding, so she can contribute responsibly to her community. The BAYT 613 girl guide chapter is the only shomer Shabbos chapter in Canada. NEW BAYT YOUTH ROBOTICS PROGRAM 6 sessions Sundays, October 26th 2014 December 7th 2014 Time: 5:00pm 6:00pm Location: West Wing classroom # 1 All ages invited Cost $84 members $95 non members Today we are living in a challenging and fast?paced society. As parents, you would like to prepare your children to develop multiple skills at an early age. In association with the Academy for Math & English, we are offering a Robotics program designed to meet those objectives. Through hands?on exploration, children learn fundamental information on subjects like science and technology.
19 17 NEW BAYT YOUTH ICE HOCKEY Continuous Sundays October 26th 2014 March 15th 2015 Time: 8:15pm 9:15pm Age: Grades 1-4 and Grades 5-9 Location: Garnet A. Williams C.C. Cost: $275 members $325 non members Enjoy an evening of great hockey. Start off with some hockey drills and then compete in three 15 minute periods. The teams will consist of players from both grade levels. Younger against younger and older against older on 2 minute shifts. Registration includes reversible team jersey, water bottle, monthly raffles, excellent on ice instruction and supervision, trophy and year end banquet. 20 SPECIAL EVENTS SUKKAH HOP Friday October 10th, :30pm - 5:30pm This annual event is open to all kids of all ages! There will be singing, quizzes and lots of food! Different theme at each house. Meet in the Shul sukkah promptly at 3:30pm. CHOL HAMOED SUKKOT PROGRAMS SUKKOT CARNIVAL Sunday October 12th, :00am - 4:00pm Fun for the Whole Family with with rides, carnival games, petting zoo, shows, clowns, music, food and sooo much more! CONSTANTIA Monday October 13th, :30am Join Rabbi & Rebbitzen Korobkin and BATY YOUTH at Constantia Seniors residence. Share in the mitvah of lulav and etrog with the residents and show off your talent at singing, playing an instrumennt, telling a story, or even a joke or 2. You don't have to be part of the talent show to be part of this very special morning. All kids and families invited to attend. Meet in the Constantia (Centre Street) parking lot at 10:15am. 23 MACCABI HAIFA VS TORONTO RAPTORS Come out as a family and enjoy this exciting event on October 22nd. at 5:30pm Start off with a great buffet dinner at the shul then hop on our bus and head to the Air Canada Centre to cheer on your favourite team. Tickets are limited. $36 gets you dinner, transportation and a ticket to the game in the lower bowl. There will also be a raffle for a Toronto Raptor Jersey. Tickets on sale NOW at Don t delay!!
