EBA Focus: Laindon Baptist Church was founded in 1909, moved to its present buildings in In pastoral vacancy since January, the church begins the search for a new minister. Please pray: About the ministerial vacancy and the search process, that the right person will be made known to lead the church forward; That more younger and active people will come to broaden and enhance the make-up of the church; In thanks for the current youth and children s work and pray for more opportunities to reach additional youngsters The Bible Course returns on Thursday 20th September for 4 further weeks, 7.30pm. Please contact Paul John for more information. Do join us in Room 3 as we gather for a time of prayer before the morning service, am. If you have any items you would like included in the prayers in the services, please give them to the person at the welcome table in the foyer before the morning service. If you would like someone to pray with you at the close of the service, please come down to the front of the church.
5 BIBLE-BASED RETURNS ON & THURSDAY PRAYER FOCUSED SHARING LIFE 1 Lord, as we start a new month, kindle in us a thirst for your wisdom and knowledge that we may be children with open hearts for you and our brothers and sisters around us. 2 Pray for all those people living in Dyers Yard. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray? Pray for all those who work in schools at the start of this new academic year. Pray for children who are starting school or moving on to new schools, that they would settle quickly and make good friendships. The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts his trust in the Lord shall be safe. Prov 29:25 Pray for the Encounter evening tonight. May God s presence move throughout His people and renew and refresh them all. Pray for the growing migrant community in Norwich. May newcomers be welcomed into the City and our Churches. May they settle quickly with newly found friends around them. Pray for our Royal family. As we see how they have modernised over recent years, may the Church still be at the centre of their values and principles. Tomorrow is Compassion Sunday, where we remember and pray for the charity, Compassion UK. As we continue to pray for our own sponsored children, let us pray also that more people will feel moved to sponsor children overseas to enable them to receive the healthcare, education and bible-based teaching that can transform their lives. Pray for all those people living in Barnards Yard Block. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray? Pray for Nikki Collins and the Open the Book team as they continue to build friendships and share the Good News in schools in our area. Pray for Caleb, the men s gathering at Witard Road today. Pray for great fellowship and sharing of God s word. As a Church family, may we be ever more ready to say here I am Lord, and answer to His call. Pray for the young people of our Church who are about to begin their University careers. May they feel God s protective arms around them as they embark on this exciting new journey in their lives. Bless the parents who will have to readjust to a new reality of homelife also. Pray for Somalian believers in the horn of Africa, who are so open to persecution. Pray that they will have the strength to stay strong in their faith when the pressure upon them is so strong. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Cor 12:13 Pray for all those people living in St. Miles Alley and Rosemary Lane. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray?

8 BIBLE-BASED & PRAYER FOCUSED Thank God for those who are attending The Bible Course. Pray that their faith would be renewed and enriched through learning more about God s word. Pray for the missing Pastor Raymond Koh of Malaysia, who was kidnapped in February last year. The newly elected government in May reopened the inquiry into his disappearance, which is thought to have had police involvement. Please pray for him to be found safely and reunited with his family. Pray for the church meeting tonight. May God be fully present and guide us in discussions and decisions to enable us to lead our Church forward with His will at the forefront of our actions. Please lift up the people of Guatemala, who are trying to continue with their normal lives after a volcano eruption three months ago. Please pray for God's comfort for the families who lost loved ones as a result of the eruption. And pray for Tearfund partners as they respond to the needs of those in the affected area. More than 38,000 people have been displaced by violence in Plateau State, Nigeria. Many of these people's homes were destroyed, and they now live in crowded camps with inadequate shelter and little access to food and safe water. Please pray for an end to the violence; for God's protection over the vulnerable; and that people s needs will be met. Last month the Indonesian island of Lombok was devastated by two earthquakes. More than 150 people were killed, and thousands of homes and businesses were destroyed. Pray for comfort for all those who are mourning, healing for those who have been injured, and wisdom and provision for the local authorities as they continue to respond. Pray for all those people living in Throckmorton Yard. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray? Pray for the work of Operation Agri as it supports Christian-led rural and urban development projects in three continents, attacking the basic causes of poverty amongst some of the least fortunate people in the world. Pray for the government and transport/infrastructure bodies in Italy following the terrible collapse of the bridge near Genoa. Pray that bereaved families will be comforted. Pray that safety checks and funding can be applied to the whole transport system to make this beautiful country confident once more with their roads and bridges. Monsoon time again in India is causing more hardship - hundreds of people have died in devastating floods in the southern state of Kerala, the worst monsoon in almost a century. As tensions within the USA and with the USA and its 'allies' continue to rise - pray for mutual understanding and a greater sense of perspective can be attained throughout. Pray that tensions with non-allies can also be calmed as we all look for America to lead by example with justice and humanity. Vanilla may seem like a simple flavour, food, spice - but its production and theft is causing great problems for the Madagascan farmers who grow and harvest the crop. Becoming more expensive than silver the sought after flavour is the source of great conflict, and its theft is devastating the lives of the poor farmers growing it. Please pray for safety and for a sensible level of law enforcement. Pray for the livelihood of the locals who rely so heavily on the production to sustain a living. Pray for all those people living in The Moorings. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray? Pray for the work of BMS, particularly for their new harvest appeal resource Life s First Cry. Pray that the video and resources will be successful in raising money to help save lives of mothers and babies in remote villages in Afghanistan.
