All are invited to write their Joys and Sorrows in the book at the back of the sanctuary.

Please join us after the service for coffee and conversation and stop by the Welcome Counter to sign up for our newsletter so you can get a sense of what goes on at First Church. Have questions about Unitarian Universalism or First Church? Come to a casual orientation for visitors to get your questions answered. The next orientation is on June 25 in the Fisher Room (just beyond the coffee). Childcare is provided; we ll be finished by noon. We hope you ll stop by! Ready to join? 4 Blessing of the Flowers Minister: In the name of the Providence which implants in the heart of the seed the future of the flower, and which implants in our hearts that thirst for justice which will not be quenched until people live lovingly with each other, we bless these flowers. Congregation: In the name of the Highest, in which we move and take our being, and in the name of the Deepest, which makes mother and father, brother and sister, and lover and loner who they are, we bless these flowers. Minister: In the name of the prophets and sages who sacrificed their lives to hasten the coming of the reign of mutual respect, we bless these flowers. Congregation: Let us now renew our resolution, sincerely, to be brother and sisters regardless of the barriers which estrange. Minister: May these flowers be for us the sign of the glory and variety to which we aspire, knowing the whole while that we are One Family: the Family of Spirit and Nature. All: In this holy resolve may we be strengthened by the spirit of love, that we ourselves may bloom bloom in the splendor of a joyful life, and may we endeavor to be ever more perfect in our days. OH Special Plate Collection Today Today, June 4, we have an opportunity to contribute to a special plate collection for Unitarian Universalist Justice Ohio, or UUJO. UUJO is our UU state action network. UUJO holds an annual Justice Assembly in Columbus and annual regional meetings that prepare us to work for justice with other UUs and people of other faith communities. 100% of those who attended the April event in Dayton said they would recommend the event to others.
