Grades 7th 12th remain in worship every week. A Leadership Program is available for grades 7th-12th to help with the Sunday Morning Program. Youth must Pre-Register to be a leader. During our worship service, a slide will indicate that children and youth (leaders) may depart for morning program. After worship, parents can meet with their children in Sponsler Hall. Parents with infants and small children: Currently we are unable to offer childcare or educational classes for children under the age of four years. We invite young families to remain in worship and use our break room if needed, which is located near the front doors. You are still able to see and hear the worship service! There are baby changing tables in the bathroom in sanctuary near the entrance and in the education wing of Sponsler Hall. 10:00 AM All Ages Gather REV. Program TBA CENTER FOR SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT Cocoa Beach Community Church OPEN AND AFFIRMING COMMITTEE EDUCATIONAL - INFORMATIONAL GATHERINGS NEXT ONA CONVERSATION COMING UP Sunday July 22 Seeking Justice LGBT and Legal Issues On Sunday evening, July 22nd, we will have our next summer discussion and forum focused upon issues relevant to being an Open and Affirming Congregation. We welcome Wesley Davis, Field Coordinator with Equality Florida, to speak on the topic Justice Achieved-Justice Yet to Be. Mr. Davis will be sharing with us some of the struggles that have faced LGBT people in this country and state in previous decades, and lift up challenges facing the community during the days to come. Equality Florida is a cooperating agency with the Human Rights Campaign and is involved in advocacy for LGBT people throughout Florida. A light dinner is planned for 6 p.m. and Mr. Davis will begin at 6:30. The first two events have been fairly well attended, and helpful for those of us who participated. If you haven t found you way to one, perhaps this is the right one for you. SMALL GROUP MEETINGS The committee has already begun looking toward fall when we hope to engage in a small group process. These small groups will be scattered out over several weeks, and hosted in member s homes. If you would be willing to host a group one evening, would you please let Michelle or Ed know as well as how many people you might be able to accommodate. A date will be coordinated with your schedule. You only need to provide space, any other hospitality would be of your choosing. Ed will facilitate the small group, and a member of the committee will be present to record comments in order to assure accurate information.

5 REGARDING THE SUPPORT POSTS IN THE NAVE You will notice on Sunday that nine support posts have been installed in the nave of our worship space: three along the north side aisle, three along the south side aisle, and three on the north side of the center aisle. Some will notice that some seem to be installed a little crooked-yes! It was impossible to place the posts straight without moving the pews, so wisdom ruled the decision to leave them as they are. These will hopefully shore up the structure while the larger repair model is being worked out. More stress cracks have been developing which is why we needed to get these initial supports in place. Your understanding and patience is greatly appreciated during this time. Information will flow to you as leadership receives it, be assured. Meanwhile, the Spirit blows where it will and we will worship and give thanks for God s amazing grace. ENDOWMENT FUND REPORT Your Endowment Fund Committee would like to report that as previously planned we have moved funds from the Money-Market holding account to purchase additional Mutual Funds. This nearly depletes the available cash for further investments. As new funds are added we continue with our plans. Karen Neumann Financial Secretary CHURCH SURVEY As our church grows and evolves, the CBCC Church Membership/Growth committee is asking for your help in assessing the ability of our church to meet your needs and those of folks coming to our church. It is important that the church is a place you want to call home and that you would want to invite friends and relatives to in the future. The church continues to develop a vision for the future and we would like to understand how you evaluate your church life, the programs currently in place, and where you would like to see the church go in the next few years. Please pick up a survey. Copies are located in the narthex or during the week copies will be in the church office. The survey should take less than minutes to complete. After completing the questionnaire, please turn in to church office or in the box marked survey in Sponsler Hall, or scan and to: cbcc.info@cfl.rr.com, or return by mail to: 126 S. Atlantic Ave. Cocoa Beach Florida, We will also be mailing this survey out to our snowbird members! Once we have received the surveys and analyzed the results, we will present a summary to the congregation toward the end of the year.

6 UCC READING FOR RENEWAL A member of Women s Fellowship purchased several books for members to read. Anyone is welcome to read these books but PLEASE return to the marked basket in Sponsler Hall. Some are based on real events factual or fictionalized, others are events/stories created by the writer. 7 VISITATION Every month CBCC visits members and friends in their homes, in hospitals, or in nursing homes. Birthday cards, Get-Well Wishes, and Miss-You cards are sent regularly. Those who receive it appreciate this personal contact provided by members of our church. The gift of giving and sharing is deeply rewarding. Do you know someone in need? Need a birthday added? GIFTS OF FLOWERS When providing Altar Flowers on Sundays, please consider letting someone take them to a shut-in or to the hospital for a patient who may appreciate cheering up. FELLOWSHIP HOSTS MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Meeting and greeting friends and visitors after worship is a great part of our Sunday morning experience here at CBCC. Every week it is our pleasure to wander over to Sponsler Hall, grab a cup of coffee and a snack, and chat for a while before heading off for our week. This time also provides us an opportunity to meet new people visiting our church. Sign up to host our fellowship! Just one time makes a difference. Snacks are already there. Set-up and clean-up is the main task. This is a great ministry for couples or two friends who love to entertain. SERVICE OF INTERMENT FOR JULIA STALLINGS On Tuesday morning, July 24 th, there will be a committal service for the ashes of Julia Stallings at 10 a.m. This will be a simple liturgy with a couple of members of Julia s family present, but anyone wishing to attend may do so.
