Niles Westside Seventh-day Adventist Church Church Library Spotlight: Juliana Payne is a member here and she would like to share her reading experiences with the Jerry Thomas series, Detective Zack. She writes, The Detective Zack series is exciting and very good for kids. It is about a young detective who goes around the world with grown-ups and solves mysteries. You can learn more about Bible stories like Noah s flood. It is really great for kids! You can have a similar experience. Visit the library in the church foyer any Sabbath between 10:45 and 11:45 am. Card Party: Valerie Curtis, daughter of Reggie and Susan Curtis, is getting married July 29, The couple will be moving to Texas right away and won t be able to take a lot of things with them. So we re having a card party! Bring a card with some money or a gift card enclosed to Terri Hebard s house at 1010 N Philip Rd, Niles on July 1 from 2-4 p.m. to celebrate their union. Parking Lot Update: The plan is for the top coat of asphalt to be laid down on Thursday, July 5, with striping the following week. Parking remains the same as the last couple of weeks. Please continue to support the Parking Lot Fund so we can retire the loan as soon as possible. Adventurers is for families with children in Kindergarten - 4 th grade. We meet in the gym on most Mondays during the school year, from 6-7:30 p.m. A parent must accompany children. Sunday Sunup Runners/Walkers: Are you a runner or walker who would like to exercise with others? Bring a friend and join us on Sunday mornings at 8 a.m. at Plym Park. All fitness levels are welcome. 4 Community & Other Announcements Adventist Retirees of Michiana: Monthly meeting is happening July 8, 1:00 pm at the Village Seventh day Adventist Church, Berrien Springs MI. This month's speaker will be Nick Miller, professor of Church History and International Religious Liberty at the Seminary and also director of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty at the Lake Union Conference. Bring a dish and come fellowship with us. Contact Ken or Sharon Straw, or for further information. Andrews Academy is now enrolling students in grades 9-12 for the 2018/2019 school year. We invite you to join the AA family. You will be blessed by what Andrews Academy has to offer. Students consistently score above state and national levels on their ACTs and they are involved in many spiritual and service activities throughout the school year. Registration day is August 15. Financial packages are available. Free Dental Care & Health Expo: On Sunday, August 19, Harbor of Health will host this event once again in Benton Harbor! They are adding free eye exams along with glasses at $10/pair. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit Healthcare workers, pastors, counselors, greeters, interpreters (Spanish or French), security, patient transporter, set up/take down, food service, children s corner, etc. are all needed. Their mission is to help the community to increase in good health. If you are not able to participate physically, maybe you would be willing to help financially.
