4 MATH OUTSIDE By: Alexandra Jimenez & Abigail Taylor Instead of using our math books, we went outside for Math. We were divided into three groups with an eighth grader leading each group. 1st & 2nd grade measured the base and height of rectangles and gave the measurements to an 8th grader to convert to centimeters and then find the area. 3rd & 4th grade had to measure the base and eighth of rectangles to the nearest 1/16 of an inch and then go round the perimeter of the shape. 5th grade had to measure rectangles to the nearest 1/16 of an inch and then find the area. 6th and 7th grade had to measure the diameter of circles and then find their circumference. It was a lot of fun to go outside and do math. 4
5 CAPACTIY OUTSIDE By: Abigail Taylor This assignment was for first through third grade. They went outside with Mrs. Taylor and found a table full of measurement tools such as pints, liters, gallons, cups, teaspoons, tablespoons, and other containers. There were also containers with lots of water. They used the water and containers to find out how many cups were in a pint, how many pints in a gallon, and other measurements. They really enjoyed the activity and getting wet too. 5
6 OUR NEW GARDEN By: Zachary Parker This past week we started tilling to put in a class garden. Alexandra, Abigail, and I got to do the tilling. Since Mrs. Taylor, Abby, and Alex had never used a rotortiller before it go quite interesting to absolutely hilarious. Since we were tilling up sod, the tiller tends to pull a little (well, maybe quite a bit), so it gave Abby and Alex a free ride past where we wanted it to go. I'd end up running after them and the tiller to turn it off. It was really hilarious when Mrs. Taylor ran into a wall. After we were done with a layer of tilling, the younger grades came out and picked out the grass and weeds. 6

11 Church remodeling continues with the men's bathroom, but we need your help and support How many of you have enjoyed seeing the progress on the handicapped rest room over the last several months? On Tuesday, the church board decided to move forward with the remodel of the men's bathroom rather than reschedule the process in the future. But here is where we need your help. We still have some funds left over from the handicapped rest room but we need about $7000 in additional funds to complete the men's rest room. If you would like to contribute towards this project, please mark your donations "church remodeling" on your tithe envelope. Church Directory Available for Download 11
