PRELUDE Processional March Verne THE LIGHT ENTERS WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT GREETING & ANNOUNCEMENTS (Thank you for your gift of presence and for completing a prayer request card today) Rev. Marvin Lance Wiser INTROIT We Worship You, God (v.1) NCH 26 We wor-ship you, God; your power and your love are bla-zoned a-broad, a-round, and a-bove: Our Shield and De-fend-er, the An-cient of Days, pa-vil-ioned in splen-dor, and gird-ed with praise. * CALL TO WORSHIP (All who are able may stand) Kern Wallace L: O LORD, God of Israel, there is no god like You, R: in heaven above or on earth below. R: Happy are those whose strength is in you! L: O LORD, God of Israel, there is no god like You, R: in heaven above or on earth below.
2 * HYMN Like a Tree Besides the Waters NCH 313 * INVOCATION (in unison) Kern Creator God, even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You, much less this building that we have built! Lord, remind us of this. No walls can contain you, fires cannot scorch your name, nor can waters drown your presense. Channel the chaotic waters of our lives into rivers of Life. Inject us with the Edenic majesty of Your creation. Help us to commune with others as You commune with us in this space and in every place. Amen. * PASSING OF THE PEACE Kern L: The peace of God be with you all. R: And also with you. L: Let us greet our neighbors with a sign of peace. MUSICAL INTERLUDE CHILDREN S GATHERING Rev. Pepper Swanson CHILDREN S BLESSING Children of God (v. 1) NCH 533 Chil-dren of God, lift hearts to one an-oth-er; where pit-y dwells, the peace of God is there; To wor-ship right-ly is to love each oth-er, each smile a hymn, each kind-ly deed a prayer. In times of temptation, strengthen us. From the grip of all that is evil, free us. For you reign in the glory of the power that is love, now and forever. Amen. Prayer Response I Need You Every Hour (v. 1) NCH 517 I need you ev-ery hour, O God of grace; The peace your voice affords, I now em-brace I need you, how I need you!
