This expression of faith, gratitude and love should be prayerful and planned so that it can truly be the first fruits and the proportion that expresses our acknowledgment of Gods gifts. We rely on the help of the Holy Spirit. Our securee giving option is accessible through our church website: stjudech.org From the Pastor See how today s first reading from the book of Proverbs attributed to King Solomon who lived 1,000 years before Christ, corresponds to our Eucharistic celebrations: "Wisdom has built her house, she has set up her seven columns; mixed her wine, yes, she has spread her table. She has sent out her maidens; she calls : "Let whoever is simple turn in here; To the one who lacks understanding, she says, Come, eat of my food, and drink of the wine I have mixed! Forsake foolishness that you may live; advance in the way of understanding." (Proverbs 9:1-6) 9 Ancient Wisdom calls us to Come, eat of my food, and drink of the wine I have mixed! Forsake foolishness that you may live; Jesus as a person of God encompasses that ancient Wisdom and says in this Sunday s Gospel: "For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me." (John 6:44-57) Reflection: Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise EPHESIANS 5:15 A wise person recognizes that all we have and all we are comes from God. A wise person thanks God continually throughout the day for all His many blessings. A wise person realizes that God has blessed us for a reason and that He wants us to help Him build His kingdom of earth.

We begin a new prayer list every January 1 and July 1. WOMEN S LIFE LIVING IN FAITH EVERYDAY Have you ever felt a need to connect with other Catholic women, but weren't sure how to do it? The women meet on the 1 st an 3 rd Wednesday of each month, at 7:00PM. Our purpose is to provide an opportunity to encourage one another as we reflect on God s word, and discuss how it impacts our daily lives as we struggle to be faithful to Jesus in our turbulent, changingg culture. We are inviting women of all ages, married, single, older and younger. Clothing and Shoes Donation Bins Please consider supporting our poverty relief services by donating gently used clothing, shoes, household items and small appliances to Catholic Charities-Diocese of Metuchen. Clearly marked donation boxes are located in many parishes of the Diocese including St. Jude Parish, Blairstown, NJ, located near the St. Jude Giving Tree Preschool. If you have an item that is too big to fit in a donation box, call to arrange for a free pick up at your home.
