3 From the Pastor Happy Easter to all! The Lord has risen! We journeyed with Christ in his suffering and death. Now we are one with him in his resurrection. St. Peter in the first reading for Easter Sunday mass speaking of Jesus saying: We are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree. This man God raised on the third day and granted that he be visible to us, the witnesses chosen by God in advance, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. He commissioned us to preach to the people and testify that he is the one appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness, that everyone who believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins through his name." Jesus has conquered sin. Jesus has conquered death. Alleluia, Alleluia! His rising from the dead brings to us New Life. As we begin this Easter Season with joy, let us do what we can to share the joy of the Lord with those around us. THIS WEEK AT ST. Everyone is welcome to join us for an hour of prayer and thanksgiving to Our Blessed Mother for all she has done for us and continues to do DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY DEVOTION April 8, 2018, 2:30 to 4:00 PM St. Jude Church Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament Adoration, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Prayer, Benediction St. Jude Parish will be having a special Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with Eucharistic Adoration on the Feast of Divine Mercy / 2 nd Sunday of Easter, April 8 with Divine Mercy Chaplet at the Hour of Mercy 3:00 PM along with scripture and reflection ending with Benediction. To benefit from special graces for Divine Mercy all are called to make use of the Sacrament of Reconciliation in advance of the Feast Day. Divine Mercy Novena at St Jude in advance of Divine Mercy Sunday is recited after the 9 AM Weekday Mass.

Our Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl ends as we encounter our Risen Lord. We reflect on our brothers and sisters we have walked with, and we commit to bringing Easter joy to each person we meet in our daily lives. Please remember to turn in your Rice Bowl. Rice Bowl money can be returned to the bin in the vestibule or basket in the sacristy, or write out a check for the amount and place in an envelope marked rice bowl and put in regular collection. Monday, April 9, Solemnity of the Annunciation and International Day of the Unborn Child This years celebration of the Incarnation of God becoming man in the womb of Mary at her Annunciation by the Angel, has been moved from March 25 to April 9 due to the Holy Week and Easter Week celebrations. Pope Saint John Paul II in 1999 declared the Solemnity of the Annunciation also to be the Day of the Unborn Child. As we reflect on Christ beginning his presence in the womb of his mother Mary 9 months before He was born we also remember all unborn children.
