2 Upcoming Events THE DOVE Today s liturgical banners feature the descending dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit. On this day of Pentecost celebration, we remember the promise Jesus made in John 14:26, that God would send the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, to teach us everything, and remind us of all that Jesus said. Then, in the book of Acts, on Pentecost, it is the Holy Spirit that descends on all the gathered believers. This Spirit fills them. Like the Holy Spirit fell upon Jesus at his baptism, so God s Holy Spirit washes over us on our baptism day and especially on these confirmands as they affirm the baptismal promises made for them. So let us all proclaim: Come Holy Spirit, Come! MEN S MONDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY Join the guys tomorrow, 6:30-7:30 am in the Parlor, to study Proverbs 8:1-4, 22-31; Psalm 8; Romans 5:1-5; and John 16: Enter through Door 9 (St. James Street).
