3 Serving, Giving, and Growing SOUPER BOWL OF CARING Today Our youth are taking up a collection for people in need. They will give 100 percent of donations directly to Journeys: The Road Home, a local hunger-relief charity. The youth will be outside of every service with pots, pans, and ladles! Thank you! MISSION BRAINSTORMING RECORDINGS Many great ideas were presented at the Mission Brainstorming session. Now you can watch the video recording or listen to the podcast at fpcah.org/news. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC (DR) MISSION TRIP The DR mission team has had to postpone their trip from late January until next August due to an epidemic of the Chikungunya disease in the DR. Transmitted through mosquito bites, its symptoms including fever and severe joint pain are very similar to the dengue virus. The good news is that the team was able to provide our monetary support to our ministry partners in the DR, so the people can benefit from our scholarship dollars, water-filtration support, and medical clinic support now. Please keep the Dominican people in your prayers. PARENTS DAY OUT (PDO) REGISTRATION Registration for the PDO school year is now open. Visit fpcah.org/pdo_children to learn all the details and register. Questions? Contact Jane Kosel, PDO director, at janekosel@fpcah.org or PDO is for children from 9 months to 5 years of age and is offered on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. This series is based on a common phrase reiterated by many characters throughout the Bible. When God calls out to them, these individuals respond by saying, Here I am. We ll look at the examples set by Abraham, Jacob, Samuel, and Isaiah. Are you ready and willing to do what God asks of you? Are you ready to say, Here I am? PER CAPITA APPORTIONMENT Each year every Presbyterian church is apportioned a share of the ecclesiastical expenses of Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly. These are the activities that make us Presbyterian. This apportionment is based on church membership. In 2015, this apportionment is $31.23 per member. Any funds you designate for the apportionment will be used for this purpose and will free up our General Fund dollars to be used in supporting the vision, overall ministry, and mission of our congregation. Please contribute your share of the Per Capita Apportionment. Please use one of the Per Capita envelopes from the pew pockets in the Sanctuary or found at the Chapel Welcome Center.
