2 Living by Faith Monthly Newsletter of Live Oak United Methodist Church April 2013 IN THIS ISSUE Pastor s Desk Nuggets from the Bible Men s Prayer Breakfast Partners on the Journey Coming in Awana Volunteers Journey Loss &Grief Refuge Blood Drive Scholarships Prom 2013 Thank You VBS Honor/Memory NUGGETS FROM THE BIBLE From the Pastor s Desk A special thanks to the Live Oak UMC family for making the Easter season so very special. God blessed us in so many ways during this season with reports of His Amazing Grace reaching into the lives of so many. We are looking forward to April and the amazing weather that we usually enjoy in April. My prayer is that as we enjoy the beauty of God's creation we will praise Him for His marvelous creation. Many are also enjoying the History Channel series "The Bible." According to the ratings it is one of the more popular series playing on television. Due to the popularity of this series, there are many questions that people are asking about the Bible. Many ask Is it credible, relevant, and true? Others ask How was it collected (put together) and why do followers of Jesus refer to it so often? In the month of April we will be looking at how "God has spoken." We will address how God has revealed His will, character and instruction to us through His Creation, His Word and His Son. I hope you will join us for this new series in April, which will hopefully inspire and inform you on how God has revealed Himself to His creation. I hope to see you Sunday! Mark Crosby
3 Nuggets from the Bible John 3:16 God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. As believers we are saved forever by grace through faith, forgiven, accepted, beloved of God, walking in newness of life, baptized into Christ Jesus, the temple of the Holy Spirit, clothed with Christ, holy, blameless, at peace with God. We are born again partakers of the divine nature, empowered by God, children of promise, one in Him, the body of Christ, seated in heaven, kingdom citizens, a royal priesthood, vessels of honor, salt of the earth, light of the world, soldiers of Christ, fishers of men, ministers of reconciliation, victorious, alive forever. Saturday, April 13th 7:30-9:00 am Come hear Dr. Mark Crosby share his personal testimony! This will be a great time of fellowship for men of all ages. Come and spend some time with our Pastor as well as other men who have a heart for God! Food will be served at 7:30. This event will conclude by 9:00 am.
