Patti Aupperlee, Pastor Rev. Phyllis Parthemer, Pastor From Pastor Patti Happy Easter! This is a favorite time of the year for me because we are blessed to celebrate Easter for 50 days! This season of Easter does not end until Pentecost, when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church (see Acts 2). For the next 50 days we focus on being a people who are, according to our liturgy, incorporated into Christ s mighty acts of salvation ( and the beauty of the Church. Throughout April s sermons, we will explore our spiritual gifts and how we can utilize them individually and increasing the strength and mission of the church collectively. You are invited to a CHURCH HALL MEETING on Wednesday, April 16 ~ 6:30pm-8:30pm in the Gathering Place. Ministry updates will be shared, along with visioning plans for future months. Questions from the congregation will be welcomed. Our goal is that all will feel they are fully informed about the ministries at UMCPB. In March and throughout the next few months, I have asked people who are involved in varying aspects of UMCPB to share how this church has been valuable to their spiritual growth as the stewardship moment. Often, we only see the church from the perspective that we are involved in. Hearing from other voices, broadens our understanding of ministries we didn t know much about before. This also serves as an invitation engage in a new ministry opportunity. On Sunday, April 22, we will have one combined worship service at 10am. We have been selected by Palm Beach County Justice Services as the location for their annual worship service to kick off Re-entry Week which brings awareness to promote offender success in the community and reduce the recidivism rate of offenders released from prison. We are blessed to participate in Family Promise as a host site April 22 April 29. Many volunteer opportunities are still available. I love being your pastor and being on this journey of faith together as we continue to worship God and reach out to our neighbors all by God s unfailing grace. Please give me a call, text, or . I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and prayers. Joyfully, Pastor Patti

We realize that you probably have not met your Trustees, so we will make a concerted effort to improve that. We also intend to keep you informed of our projects so you will know what your Trustees are doing to maintain and improve God s meeting place (our place of worship). The Church is currently under a Stop Spending directive, and your Trustees have struggled over the years with unplanned, urgent need equipment failures that have strained the Church budget. Future projects will, therefore, be presented to the congregation for donor consideration. We are hoping that Corporate and/or Congregational donations (beyond tithing) will be able to help us meet these future challenges. Some will be large, many will be achievable. We will use this bulletin insert to keep you informed. The following project(s) will need donor funding; please consider how you can help us meet our goals: Painting Chapel Interior Walls - $3, From Pastor Current Patti Donations Received - $2, we need $ Playground Area Wood Mulch - $ Current Donation Received - $ we need $ Thank you, Church! 11 Page 11 Dedication Day at the Madison Youth Ranch 2018 Our North Florida Campus The Madison Youth Ranch was opened in 2014 and offers children a rural, country setting in which they can roam, play, and heal. One of the outstanding programs at the Youth Ranch is the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) program with the assistance of Pinky and Sugar, our resident horses. The Stickney Stable, dedicated on July 10, 2015 makes a wonderful addition to the scenic pastures and completes an ideal location for the children and horses. The EAP program helps children develop healthy relationships and a strong work ethic, as well as overcome fears, build teamwork, and much more. A child s responses to the horses can also provide excellent insight into the child s opinions of self and of others, especially authority figures. In May of this year, the Youth Ranch dedicated the Margaret R. Scully Aquatic Center, featuring a pool for the children to enjoy on those hot summer days. Ground was also broken on two new buildings, the Chapel and the Counseling and Support Services Center. During this year, we have seen the construction of both the Chapel and the Counseling & Support Services Center (CSSC) on the Madison Campus. Both of these have been the result of years of prayers and support. On May 5, 2018, the Madison Youth Ranch will be hosting Dedication Day at the Ranch to celebrate the official opening of these two new buildings. The schedule is as follows: 10:30 AM Gates will open with campus tours commencing 11:30 AM Program to dedicate the Chapel and CSSC 12:00 PM Picnic lunch on campus Tours resume after lunch The CSSC will provide space for the therapists to provide treatment for the children, as well as meeting & training space for staff. It will serve as the administrative hub of the Madison campus. The Center even includes a storm shelter for the children in case of inclement weather. The Chapel has a multipurpose worship space. It has an A/V system that will allow for the use of various multimedia resources. Additionally, the stained glass windows in the Chapel tell the story of the Christian faith, inviting the children to see themselves as a part of it. We hope you will plan to be at this historic day as we celebrate these dreams becoming reality. In order to accommodate our Visitors, we ask that you please RSVP by Friday, April 20, To RSVP, you may phone or visit Address: 1647 NE Captain Buie Rd, Pinetta FL Our UMCPB Representative please contact: Mrs. Kay Brand at kbrand747@gmail.com
