2 Redemption Do you remember Peter on the night Jesus was arrested? He claimed he had never heard of Jesus. Today we are called to join Peter in testifying to the name of Jesus as he does in the first reading, and in proclaiming our love for him as Peter does in the Gospel passage. The powerful imagery of John s vision in the second reading from the book of Revelation shows us the company we keep when we have faith in the name of Jesus. We join all living creatures, countless in number from heaven, earth, under the earth, in the sea; everything in the universe (Revelation 5:11, 13). The dignity and majesty described in each reading are in stark contrast to the dark and pitiful image of Peter and the other apostles at the time of Jesus arrest, trial, and crucifixion. What a relief that we can all be redeemed so completely! Copyright J. S. Paluch Co. 3 Save 3 Lives by Donating at St. Anne's Next Blood Drive! St. Anne Presents: A new Adult Faith Formation Program Monday April 18th from 1:30 pm-6:30 pm in the Mobile Bus in the East Parking lot. Sign up online or in the Gathering Area. Walk-ins are welcome. Or call 877-BE-A-HERO ( ) or schedule online It s that time of year! The sun s coming out, weather s getting warmer, and our Mt. Olympus promotion is back. All donors receive a pass good for four admissions to the Mt. Olympus Water Park. Catechesis is from the Greek word meaning to echo, or resound. Catechesis is the act of resounding or bringing the Church s teachings to the world. A catechist is one who teaches in the name of the Church. Pope Francis says that being a catechist is not a title; it is an attitude of abiding with Him, and it lasts a lifetime! It means abiding in the Lord s presence and letting ourselves be led by Him And this is the job of the catechist: constantly go forth to others out of love, to bear witness to Jesus and to talk about Jesus, to proclaim Jesus. Are you listening to Jesus call? Ready to open up to children and share what you re learning about Jesus? A catechist doesn t need to know everything. A catechist just needs to be open to learning more every day from Jesus who is the Real Teacher. There are ready-made lessons to follow from a Teacher s Manual and experienced teachers to lead you as you lead the little ones. Want to give it a try? Please call or visit our D.R.E., LeAnn Rogan, in the parish office to discuss how you might fit into the Faith Formation puzzle here at St. Anne. You may be our missing piece! Perhaps you enjoy these wonderful traditions at home under the covers on a nightly basis with your children. We d like to invite you to change up your night-time routine just once in a while to be with us here at St. Anne. We know many working parents wish they could drive their kids to daytime activities at St. Anne s, but job related priorities make that impossible. We re listening! Once per liturgical season parents are welcome to bring their kids in their jammies to hear stories (the lollipops help us stay quiet) and see a VeggieTale Video and close with prayers. Bring as many family members as you like (the more laps the better) and we ll say, Goodnight! to Jesus and to our parish family before falling asleep in peace. In peace I shall both lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me secure. Psalm 4:9 Join us on select Wednesdays from 7-8pm: April 20 is the next one! Bereavement Program April 12 th following the 8:15 a.m. Mass St. Paul the Apostle Parish, 6400 Spring Street, Racine, Fr. Cox Hall Together in Grief, Together in God, a Bereavement Ministry of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, will present this program on April 12th. Grieving the loss of a loved one is a process all of us will go through at one time or another. Whether the death was sudden or anticipated, few of us are prepared for it, or the grief it brings. There is no one right or wrong way to grieve, and every person's grief is different. Together, we'll talk about the process of grieving, living when a loved one dies, and healing a grieving heart. The program will be presented by Susan McNeil, Director of the Nazareth Project for Marriage and Family Formation for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Steubenville Youth Conference Coming to Kenosha-July Partnership for Youth will be hosting a brand new Steubenville Youth Conference at Carthage College, July Our community expects almost 2,300 youth from around the country! A Steubenville Youth Conference is primarily an invitation to spiritual growth. With a theme of I Thirst, the conference weekend includes dynamic speakers on a variety of relevant teen topics, lively music, Eucharistic Adoration, Mass and opportunity for reconciliation.
