July 16, 2017 Current Prayer Needs: (*indicates changed/new information) *Del H plans to undergo back surgery this Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids. Let's join him and his family in prayer that this surgery will alleviate the severe pain Del has been suffering for so long. *Marie G seems to be a bit stronger but still requires continual care from her family and Hospice workers. Ade & Marie covet your continued prayers on their behalf. *Bev V recently underwent surgery to remove a cancerous growth. Her doctors now recommend that she receives a series of chemotherapy treatments. Her first treatment is planned for July 25. She and Ken covet your prayers. *Easton H - His condition continues to improve; surgeons are pleased with his progress. Physical therapy for his fingers started this past week. Please continue to pray for healing on his palms and full range of motion on his fingers. Jim W Pray for relief from his pain and continued healing of his body. *Rob H, Matt W, William T are attending CADET Camporee in the Black Hills of South Dakota. There is a link on the Cadet webpage find the tab -- Camp Elkrun Live to see what they are doing this week! They left on Tuesday and will be returning home this Thursday. 3 CONGRATULATIONS to Brandon & Karen La Rosa in the birth of a daughter, Jovie Renae on Tuesday! She weighed 7 lbs 15 oz and was 21 inches long. Mom & baby are home and doing well. IN APPRECIATION: We would like to thank mom s church family for all the cards you ve sent her in the past years. Thanks also for the visits made to her. They were all very much appreciated. Ken & Bev Vanderwall A Big Thank You for all the cards, the cake, and other expressions of congratulations we received in the celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. You the Borculo congregation are among the many blessings we have enjoyed over the years. Pastor Al and Marcia Petroelje Borculo CRC collected 2 gaylords (very large cardboard containers we use for processing) full of clothing for the Holland Rescue Mission. The quality of the clothing was wonderful, and we estimate the value of this clothing drive for The Mission will bring in approximately: $2200.oo!! This will make such an impact toward our program here at Gateway we are so blessed by this amazing generosity! THANK YOU! ANNOUNCEMENTS The Garden corner is available in the church basement beginning TODAY! Anyone having extra produce in their gardens can bring clean, washed, fresh produce for other church members or visitors to enjoy. Anything left Sunday evening will be given away. Share the Joy! We will be collecting baby items for Sadie Grace, the new daughter of Brian and Charity Gruppen. You can place your gifts in the pack and play in the narthex today or next Sunday! 5 REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS Pray for Inspire Inspire 2017 is a conference to connect people from across the churches in the Christian Reformed Church for three days of worship, workshops, speakers, and conversation. As we plan and prepare for this event, happening August 3-5 in Detroit, Mich., please join us in praying for the event and all who will attend. This week, please pray for the Prayer Walk, Prayer Room, and onsite prayer partners. Pray that a spirit of prayer will infuse all of Inspire 2017, that hearts will be opened or reopened to God, to hear his voice and to connect. Pray that people will confidently come to our loving Father wherever they are - in worship times, in places set aside for prayer, both individually and with friends and prayer partners. Parkview Adult Foster Care Home is currently looking to fill a couple of positions. If you are looking for a fun and rewarding part-time job, this could the place for you! No weekend hours, and we also offer very competitive wages. 1. Driver: Beginning in the Fall, we will be looking to hire a part-time driver. This individual will be responsible for picking the residents up from their day programs, Mon-Thurs (and one Friday each month). The hours are from 2:45-5pm. 2. On-call Staff: Immediate opening. We are looking for 1-2 individuals who would be able to fill in for evening relief staff when they are either sick or on vacation. Since this is an on-call position, there are currently no set hours. However, there is the opportunity for set hours in the future. The on-call position would fill in for staff between the hours of 5-9pm, Mon-Thurs. The Revive Resale store is seeking a new part-time assistant manager. This position requires approximately 20 hours a week (daytime hours and every 5 th Saturday; no evenings or holidays). The Christian Reformed Conference Grounds, Lakeshore Dr., Grand Haven, is excited to welcome Skylight Quartet & Sacred Harmonies in concert on Saturday, July 22. We have two great groups for you this evening! We hope you will come on out and enjoy a night filled with uplifting music, comedy and four-part harmony! The doors to the Worship Center will open at 6 pm, the concert will begin at 7 pm. No tickets are needed for any of our summer concerts however a free-will offering will be taken to help offset our music ministry. Be sure and come early and enjoy a delicious Baked Whitefish or Ham dinner! Your dinner will be complete sides and your beverage.
