Anointing of the Sick takes place on the first Wednesday of each month, immediately following the 9:00 AM Mass, in the sanctuary. Anyone with an ongoing medical condition or who is seriously ill, anticipating a medical procedure or operation, is welcome to come. Gluten Free Hosts are available at all Masses. Our mission is to reach out to new parishioners, to make them feel welcome as well as to educate them about activities and programs at St. Jerome. Please consider joining the Welcoming Committee which meets only 3 times yearly - September, February and June. Call Annette Maiberger, Chair of the Welcoming Committee for additional information The 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal is underway. It provides the funds for the pastoral, educational and charitable ministries of the Diocese of Bridgeport. This year s theme, Sharing God s Gifts, Transforming Lives, calls us to come together as a people of God to live and share the faith we profess as we carry forth the mission of Jesus Christ. When you receive your Appeal mailing this week, please take time to read the information thoroughly, how you can help and give prayerful consideration when contemplating your sacrificial gift to the campaign. We can all be builders of May each of us strive to live authentic lives of faith, showing forth the merciful and loving face of God in our Gospel: The reign of God is like a tiny seed. Don t worry if your efforts seems small to you. God can magnify them. Start small..but start. LITURGICAL ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE Volunteers are needed to help plan and design the liturgical space each week. Two members of the Liturgy Committee will work with this group to guide what is needed for each liturgical season of the year. Volunteers only need to have an interest in and talent for flowers and design. It may be possible to plan for several weeks or an entire liturgical season (Advent, Lent for example) in one meeting with other volunteers to set up each week. Please contact Fr David or Suzanne Calnon ( ) if you are able to help. PRESIDENTS DAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST, FEB. 19 Tickets are on sale after all the Masses this weekend!! Please buy your tickets in advance so we know how much food to purchase. Breakfast will be served from 8:45 to 11:00 AM right in our own Church Hall. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and FREE for children age 12 and younger. Come as a family and enjoy delicious pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, orange and apple juice, milk, and tea and coffee.

Grades 7 & 8 meet in the evening. ***First Reconciliation News*** Parent & Child Workshop Saturday February 11 from 1-3 PM There is NO TOTAL this Sunday. TOTAL will meet next Sunday, February 12, with a regular session and rehearsal for the Fourteen Steps. As part of Keep Jesus Warm and Night in a Box, TOTAL is still collecting monetary donations, winter scarves, hats, gloves, jackets, new socks and underwear, and shoes and boots for the Open Door Shelter throughout the month of February. Last Saturday, 17 teens and 9 adults hung 200 scarves from trees and poles around Norwalk to raise awareness about homelessness and to encourage donations to the Open Door Shelter. We are so proud of the teens that participated: Hailey Agostino, Nicole Andruchow, Seamus Carbin, Grace Ferrante, Duncan Fitton, Kaitlyn Giglio, Sara Grant, AJ Hall, Delia Jordanides, Sean Murawski, Matt O Callaghan, Nicole Ogiba, Frankie Passarelli, Alexander Reeves, Robert Robinson, and Ryan Williams. We d like to thank the parents who helped with this project, Laurie Agostino and Chris Fitton, and a few of our TOTAL graduates, Joey Agostino, Bella Ferrante, and Monica Harrington. A huge THANK YOU goes to Liz Sue Bagels on New Canaan Avenue for their donation of bagels for our teens. If you happen to be in the area be sure to thank them for contributing to our project. ****IMPORTANT NOTICE**** New Weekday Severe Weather Policy We have developed a policy that safe-guards our parishioners and will allow time for our parish contractors to clear the property during storms. When the Norwalk Public Schools are closed Daily Mass will be cancelled for the day. When the Norwalk Public Schools are delayed we will have Daily Mass but ask that you please use your judgment and extreme caution. The 30 Hour Famine will be held at St. Philip on February TOTAL is collecting donations for St. Philip church to help pay for the cost of 10,000 meal packets. Each packet costs 50 cents and will feed a family of 6. Please help St. Philip to raise $5,000 so that our teens can pack these meals during the Famine. Every little bit helps. Donations can be dropped off in the red boxes in the back of the church or in the hallway. SAFE ENVIRONMENTS ******IMPORTANT ****** All volunteers 18 years and over must be in compliance with the diocesan mandate. Mass will be celebrated and the Sacrament of the Sick will be offered. Refreshments will follow. KEEP JESUS WARM with your DONATIONS St. Jerome will be collecting winter scarves, hats, gloves, jackets, new underwear and new socks in the marked bins in the hallway through February. TOTAL will make sure they get to the Open Door Shelter
