Thank you that you have adopted us into your family and call us "your children." We ask you to forgive us for those times we, like the parable of the Lost Son, have wandered away from your love, or when we have wavered in trusting you as our heavenly Father. Thank you for the promise in the Psalms, which assures us that "as a Father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him." It is sometimes good to put your own name beside the concern (so the minister or Prayer Group can follow up). to all those who organized, prepared, served, presented, cleaned up before and after the various events that took place last day. Your contributions helped make Steve and Andrea s first day with us a great, welcoming success! If you are able to donate new school supplies such as pencils, erasers, rulers, etc. (any item that is light and easily fits in a suitcase) that would be greatly appreciated. Hamilton people will be accommodated every Friday (except Friday 25th Thursday 24th instead!) over the next several weeks from 6-8pm. Pot luck. We extend a special invitation to our friends from MacNab Street Presbyterian to join us at Crieff. The outing is casual, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the company is great! RESPOND NOW! SYRIAN REFUGEE CRISIS The photo of a three-year-old boy washed up on a beach awakened the world to plight of Syrian refugees that has been building for the past four years. With no end in sight, there are now more than four million registered Syrian refugees over half of these refugees are children and most of them remain in the Middle East. The Presbyterian Church in Canada continues to respond to the crisis by sending relief, equipping Christian partners in the Middle East, supporting congregations sponsoring refugees to come to Canada, and advocating for government action. Give to support the PCC Syria Response that provides urgently needed humanitarian assistance and supports Christian leaders in the Middle East: Presbyterian World Service & Development (PWS&D) Syrian Humanitarian Assistance Response (The Government of Canada will match these funds until December 31, 2015.) PWS&D offering envelopes are included in today s bulletin and will remain available in the Narthex. Please mark Syria Relief on the envelope.

Blessed are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on that law they meditate day and night. They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they flourish. R FROM THE KIRK SESSION- September 16, 2015 Steve Baldry opened the meeting with a reading and mini-sermon based on 1 Corinthians 4 It was reported that summer services at both MacNab and St. Paul s were well received and well attended by MacNab The summer art show hosted by the Manse Studio Artists was well received The Induction Service for Steve Baldry was well attended by members of Chedoke, MacNab and Presbytery. Thanks were extended to Marilyn Repchuck & Marguerite Gilbert for the reception provided and to Kathy Shields for the presentation of flowers to Andrea Baldry A thank you note was received from Steve & Andrea thanking the Congregation for the kind and warm reception beyond overwhelming A Thank you note was received from Bob Geddes for the recognition of his 25 years of ordination Steve reported he has made pastoral visits, phone calls and emphasized the importance of being kept informed of pastoral needs. (phone ) He can be reached around the clock. The Mission Committee reported that cheques in support of the Inner City summer Camp were sent in June for ($1500) Dora s School of Dreams ($300) and PWS&D for Cyclone Pam $500) Funds have been held in reserve for winter coats, bus tickets, food vouchers The Mitten Tree will be placed once again in the Sanctuary in midoctober The Maintenance Committee is receiving quotes for painting of the chancel area. Improved headphones for the sound system compatible with hearing aids are being investigated. Batteries will no longer be collected and they can pose a fire hazard. Baskets for stamps, eye glasses and pull tabs will remain. The Congregational annual Budget & Stewardship meeting will be day, November 22nd. Brown Bag Lunch. $9700 has been sent to Presbyterians Sharing to date with $1700 in hand. The March 2016 Presbytery of Hamilton meeting will be hosted by MacNab A gift of a large print Bible for the Lectern has been gratefully received. Aubrey Falladown was remembered with love and respect for his many years of dedicated service Several of our members were remembered in prayer.
