They usually contain activities based on the Scriptures used in worship today. If you are a guest you may wish to accompany your child to their Church School class, following Children s Time. As part of our Leading with Care policy, parents are asked to pick up their children from their classes at the end of the Service. Our Summer Church School Program Children ages 3 and older are invited to take part in a One Room Church School for the Summer months. We will meet downstairs in the classroom off of the Church Hall. The Nursery is located downstairs off the main hallway. We are a Leading with Care community. Page 4

Doors open at 11:30 (Coffee, Tea & Juice) Lunch served from 12:00pm to 1:00pm St. Andrew s Prayer Shawl Group If anyone is aware of a person who is in need of receiving a Prayer Shawl please let the church office know. Thank you! Take Out Church As you travel this summer take a bit of St. Andrew s with you! Take Out Church boxes are available for pick-up from the resource table. They contain stories of God s invitation, wondering questions and beautiful colouring pages all set to fit easily into your car! Backpacks of Blessing This summer, when you are shopping for back to school, could you add some new pencil crayons, or markers, or an extra backpack to your list? In past years, we have invited students to bring their back packs to be blessed and remember that God is with them always -even at school. This year, we thought that it would be wonderful to share God s love with other students who are also heading back to class but might not have school supplies for the fall. Please bring any school supplies you gather & your own backpack to be blessed on September 9, Page 5

8 REBEL HEARTLAND 1837 SEPTEMBER 22 & 23, 2018 Check out the August SNAP Newspaper! Allen Kirkpatrick & Diane Hamilton have submitted an article in SNAP about St. Andrew s support to the Rebel Heartland event and added a dash of history. Special Thanks to Wes Playter of Roadhouse & Rose for letting us use his Historical column in SNAP! Rebel Heartland is a re-enactment of the Upper Canada Rebellion of William Lyon Mackenzie lead the rebellion against the British colonial government under the Family Compact. Much of the activity occurred in Newmarket and 50 local historical actors will participate in various presentations of the key activities. St. Andrew s will be participating in various ways. Saturday, September 22 12:00pm: A team of St. Andrew s community lunch volunteer s will provide a lunch for the actors at noon in McGillivray Hall. 3:00pm: The British Militia captured local rebels and detained them in the basement of our Old Kirk. Our Old Sanctuary basement will be used for the detainment. 4:30pm: Bill Hopkins will be the lay reader at a scene respecting the price paid by local leaders Samuel Lount and Peter Matthews. Sunday, September 23 12:00pm: Following our regular service, our own Joe McHugh will play the role of a circuit minister and arrive in Fairy Lake to lead a re-enacted worship service.
