2 On Leaving and Welcoming I m the whole reason the newsletter is late this month. Maybe I have been putting off writing this, I don t know. It is difficult to say goodbye. Yesterday (I m writing this on Monday, the 5 th ) we celebrated our farewell dinner and we were humbled and moved by the response. It has only been four years, but it has been a great four years. We ve had baptisms and new members, we ve learned a lot, laughed a lot, had far too many funerals. I ve gotten to know so many of you so well. When we came you welcomed us, though we were strangers. As we leave, you have embraced us as friends. Thank you so much for everything. As June winds down and July approaches, Lori and the girls and I are increasingly focusing on getting packed, paring down the way too much stuff that we have, and relearning what life in Warren will be like. We re kind of straddling two worlds right now. And Corry First is, too. While I appreciate all of the cards and well-wishes again, you have many times overwhelmed us I also smile with joy when I hear people talking about how they are looking forward to the Fehls coming: getting to know Pastor Jonathan and Katherine, seeing and getting to know the kids. It is exciting, and I m so glad many of you are looking forward to July. Let me leave you with a few thoughts about making life a little easier for Pastor Jonathan and his family: When you see them, introduce yourself. Not just the first time, but how about the whole first month? They have a couple hundred names to learn and you just have to remember six Invite Pastor Jonathan, or maybe his whole family, to come and visit you. It is awkward for any pastor to just cold call people in the congregation and say, Can I come over for a visit? If you d like the pastor to visit, invite him! Oh, and if you think there s someone he should visit for whatever reason, offer to join him on that first visit. Also, please remember that they don t know where anything is here: whether it s the church (where are the communion supplies? who shovels the sidewalks? who unlocks the church?) or in the community and region (where can you find the best produce? who do you trust to change your oil?). This is going to sound weird, but the first few weeks of a transition are both incredibly busy, and a little lonely. Don t be afraid to offer to have them over for dinner or to bring dinner to them, but also don t be offended if they politely refuse. Things get chaotic in moving, learning the community, learning the church, figuring out new routines, etc. PRAY! The single most important thing you can do for the Fehls and for Corry First is pray. There s probably a million other things I could say, but I think that is a good summary. We will continue to pray for you and hold you in our hearts. What a blessing Corry First has been to our family. In Christ s Love, Pastor Bill

3 June 2017 newsletter With our Friday Night programming coming to a close and we get ready to say goodbye to another round of seniors, I m sitting here thinking about what to say to our graduates at Friday Night Flood. There are so many things to say to a teenager who is about to leave familiarity and embark on a new journey - wait, don t forget about us! make good choices! have fun! While everyone has their own piece of advice to give graduates, I think it s most important that we encourage our kids to trust God through whatever they re about to go through next His plans for our kids are bigger than ours! The other day, I was shopping at Walmart. I was casually glancing down the aisles as I was walking by each one, and in the bread aisle I happened to catch a glimpse of a giant dog. Obviously, I stopped and backtracked with my cart, and saw that it was a seeing-eye dog for a man who must have been blind. The dog was leading his master through the perilous twists and turns of Walmart. The man, obviously, knew what he wanted and had a general idea of the direction that he wanted to go, but he needed a good set of eyes to guide him. And I think that's a pretty good picture of what God does for us - we think we know at certain stages of life just what we want and need, and yet God sees so much more of the picture than we do. He creatively guides us around certain aisles, if you will, in our lives, and straight through other ones, because He can see the whole picture - the whole map - and He knows the best path for us. So as we re encouraging teens to go in the direction of their dreams this summer, let s encourage them to follow God s plans for their lives and trust that He has it all under control, no matter what comes their way! ><> Sarah

6 Moonbeam Don and Glenda Moon May 2017 Here's What's Happening! The missionary students in training are making great strides! The weather is changing as fall arrives in Argentina. Glenda makes a wonderful apple pie. Don is training to be a coach. We are grateful to serve with a great team! It was a privilege to help host Dr. Howard Snyder and his wife Janice. Now retired, Dr. Snyder spoke in local churches in four cities, taught classes at two seminaries and shared with the students at the training center. One of our staff members was able to connect Dr. Snyder with the philosophy and medical departments of a local university. This was a unique opportunity to have a clear Christian witness in both an academic and public context! The hosts were pleased with the presentations and we trust his visit will continue to be a bridge for new relationships. Our ministry is focused primarily on multiplying ourselves by training new missionaries. A couple of years ago, Don had a burden to train new leaders within WGM and worked with both young and veteran missionaries to create a leadership training manual. That work is paying off! He is now on a task force planning a major leadership event in June for World Gospel Mission called Impact 2017, which will focus on empowering the next generation of leaders! As a part of that event, he and fourteen other people are training to be coaches that specialize in training missionaries to understand their Identity Profile, the unique combination of their personality, strengths, skills, gifts, and passions. This is going to have a major impact for the future! The pastors who have sent students to train have been invited to visit and get a better understanding of the training program. Not all the student s pastors will be able to attend so local pastors have also been invited and over 20 have confirmed. We are planning a huge Argentine style cookout that will last several hours! Please pray for the pastors and the local churches who are responding to the challenge to send cross-cultural missionaries. As is often the case when people work together in intense situations, a serious issue caused conflict between several students. However, the situation was contained and resolved through the power of the Holy Spirit, a mature staff that quickly responded to the need, and the good attitudes of the people involved. Everyone was serious in wanting to resolve the issue and move forward with their calling as missionaries. That is what this training is all about! Our mailing address is: Don and Glenda Moon Solís 267 Tigre, Buenos Aires 1648
