We are currently communicating with some very qualified men. The next step is to have a skype (visual internet) interview with each of them. We are confident God will lead us to His man to pastor our church in His time. Please continue to pray for our next pastor and your search team, as well as Randy, Jeremy, Todd, the rest of our staff, and leaders as we move through this interim time. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. 2 Volume 14, Issue 11 Page 2 Worship Ministry As we begin the Holiday Season this year, may I ask a question?... Do you know who you are? As we make plans to visit with family, host/attend parties, and purchase gifts it is easy to get wrapped up in traditions. It is easy to get so busy going and doing that it is hard to simply be. We are going to introduce a new song during the month of November called Who You Say I Am. My hope is that this song will be a great reminder for each of us about who God is and who we are. As we struggle with overfilled schedules, let us remember that our Father offers peace and rest in His arms. As our finances might be stretched, let us remember that God owns all that we see and knows what we need. Let us find our contentment in Him, even if that means we do less in the way of gifts. As we find ourselves overwhelmed by pumpkin spice and turkeys or Santa s and reindeer, let us remember the beautiful gift of love that God provided for the forgiveness of our sins and be eternally grateful for that gift. As we sing together this month, I hope this truth will sink down deep into your heart, mind, and soul... I am chosen, not forsaken, I am who You say I am. You are for me, not against me, I am who You say I am. Finally, I would love to invite you to join me on Sunday nights this month studying the book of 1 st John together. While our kids are in choir, are youth are engaging with each other, we adults will gather to see what John had to say in his day and how it can apply to our lives today. We will meet each Sunday night in November at 5:00 PM. God Bless, ~ Pastor Jeremy

4 Volume 14, Issue 11 Page 4 Ladies' Legacy 2018 KINDNESS ~~ a Legacy to Leave Today, October 19, Kristin's devotional in Daily Acts of Kindness is entitled "The Hope We Have," taking her Scripture from John 16:22, "You have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy." This week I'm reminded of my mother's home-going at 101 1/2 years of age at this time last year. She experienced much sorrow in her life, with the loss of a 4 1/2 year-old son, another son in Vietnam, my dad at age 57, and a grandson at age 25, but through it all she relied on the Lord for strength and life itself. She left a legacy of deep faith, of a helping hand, and of offering others comfort and understanding, especially to other mothers of soldiers who gave their lives in Vietnam. Kristin continues, "...These words contain a hope and a promise, one we as Christians can cling to even amid the storms of grief that come our way in this life...find a way to encourage someone who has recently experienced loss." May we leave a legacy to our families and friends of caring and comforting in times of sorrow. HOSEA, Unfailing Love Changes Everything by Jennifer Rothschild will be the next Tuesday morning Bible study, beginning October 23 at 9:30 a.m. at FSBC. Shari Abbott will lead us as we Discover the God who cherishes you... No matter where you are, God sees who you are and loves you faithfully. His unfailing love changes everything. This is Jennifer Rothschild s 5 th video-based Bible study with Lifeway. She became blind when 15 years old and has experienced personally how God s unfailing love really does change everything. Known for her substance, signature wit, and down-to-earth style, she weaves together colorful illustrations with biblical truths to help women know and live for Christ. (You may find more information at JenniferRothschild.com, including her story.) Christmas Is Kindness! will be the theme for this year's Ladies' Legacy Christmas Gathering. Be watching for the date, time, and details in the coming weeks. ~ Kathy Reimer for Ladies' Legacy Team

7 Volume 14, Issue 11 Page 7 Plan on helping to Deck the Halls (decorate the sanctuary) immediately following our Church Thanksgiving Meal November 18!!! Operation Christmas Child (OCC) will be here before you know it. Do you have your shopping done for your boxes? If not, look below for some great gift ideas. Remember that anything LIQ- UID is prohibited such as shampoo/conditioner, liquid soap, glue, perfume, etc... Effective 2017 the cost to ship a box increased from $7 to $9. If you have a few extra dollars and you d like to make a child smile, you could add an additional $6.00 which would allow the child to attend a 12-week program to study God s word. Once the 12 weeks are over, the child will have a graduation ceremony and will receive a new testament in their language. While the child is learning for those 12 weeks, they are sharing the stories and the message of salvation with friends and loved ones. How exciting is that! Whole villages/communities have become saved because someone chose to spend an additional $6. How many people do you reach for Christ when you spend $6 at McDonalds, Subway or Wal-Mart?
