3 CURATE'S CORNER This Sunday, May 6th, at 4:00pm we will offer our final service of Choral Evensong for this academic year Music ministries can be, and often are, a key ministry offered by a parish to its parishioners as well as the surrounding community. We are blessed with our own vibrant and vital Parish Choir and Choral Scholar ministry at St. John's. This talented group of singers has come together for the first year and the results have been phenomenal! Chris Brayne offers a world class musical education to our Choral Scholars each week and, in return, the Choral Scholars not only learn from him but also enhance our worship with their stunning music making. Our final Choral Evensong this Sunday will include Chorister Recognition, where we will name each member of the choir and Choral Scholar program and give thanks for their ministry to and for St. John's of Lattingtown. As we worship together each Sunday morning we are blessed by the

4 musical gifts offered by our Parish Choir and Choral Scholars, and so I ask that you join us on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm to give thanks to and for our Choral Scholars for their diligent work, dedication, and ministry to St. John's! MEET THE MEET THE VESTRY CANDIDATES CAROLYNE DILGARD-CLARK Occupation: Attorney Family: Seymour (husband) Philip, Charlotte Rose, Isabella (children) Carolyne, her husband Seymour, and their three children can often be seen at the 10:30 service or in the Sunday School classroom. They are also involved with our outreach programs. Carolyne grew up in Glen Cove and recently returned to the area. After practicing law for many years with a global law firm in Philadelphia and a stint in Europe, Carolyne recently launched her own law firm. She is also an adjunct law professor. As a former collegiate athlete she stays involved with local and national organizations in the areas of scholarship and sports. She is looking forward to being more involved in the church community. HAROLD BOLLACI Occupation: Attorney Family: Evan (husband), Bernie (dog) Harold Bollaci was raised in Locust Valley and is a 1993 graduate of Locust Valley High School. He is a trust and estates attorney with offices in Carle Place and Manhattan. He began attending St. John's in 2003 and has served as a Lector since 2016.In addition to his professional endeavors, Harold is a Member of the Union League Club of New York. He serves on the Advisory Boards of the Anglosphere Society and the Counterterrorism Institute of New York. Harold was a Charter Member of the North Shore Rotary Club. He volunteers his time for the American Humane Association and Pa'Lante Harlem, Inc, a housing advocacy organization. He recently joined the Board of the Long Island Farm Sanctuary. Harold currently lives in Glen Cove, New York with his husband Evan Bollaci and their dog Bernie.

5 STEPHANIE CLARK Occupation: President of Findlay Institute Family: Fred (husband) Junius, Anne (children) Stephanie is President of the Findlay Institute, a not-forprofit foundation researching and establishing Catalogue Raisonné on eight Findlay School artists. Prior to this she served as Director of the Findlay Galleries in New York, her family's art business, dealing in impressionist and post-impressionist paintings as well as contemporary art. Before her transition to the art world she spent 13 years in finance working in sales and trading at Caspian Securities and ABN AMRO in London and at Lehman Brothers in NYC. She has held numerous roles in public service and fund raising. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of The American Federation of the Arts and as a Trustee and Secretary of the East Side Settlement House, a community based program located in the South Bronx. Stephanie graduated from Trinity College with a double major in Art History and Psychology. At St. John's she has been active as co-chair of Thistle and Spoon, helping to lead fellowship nights at the Men's Shelter and as deputy to Jackie Powers in The Guilded Room at the Fall Country Fair. Her husband's family has been parishioners and supporters of St. John's since the 1920s and is responsible for the church's carved woodwork. They are excited to return and reunite with this legacy. Stephanie has two children, Junius and Anne. They live in Glen Cove. Occupation: Events & Family: SARAH BLUNDIN Mother, Volunteer, Former Special Fundraising Executive Chris (husband), Kate and Maggie (daughters) Sarah Blundin is a mother of two girls - ages 15 and 12 years old. She grew up in Lake Forest, IL and attended St. Lawrence University. After graduating college, Sarah moved to New York City, where she held various positions in special events and fundraising, including work at the Wildlife Conservation Society, Gourmet magazine and The Calhoun School. Sarah volunteers her time at Portledge School and is a Troop Leader of Girl Scouts Nassau County, also serving on the Nominating Committee and as an Association Delegate. At St. John's, she is a member of the Outreach Steering Committee, co-chairs the Thanksgiving and Valentine's Outreach programs, and helps with Sunday School and Sunday Night Lights. She and her family have lived in Locust Valley for 10 years. She is a regular parishioner at the 8am service.

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS What a wonderful weekend for our Sunday School; nothing novel--just wonderful, adorable snippets to make you smile. 10:30 Sunday School The little's making a 'Church Museum" in the Parish Hall during coffee hour featuring box churches they designed and decorated themselves all to open a conversation about why we go to church! The Big's big decisions were what seeds to plant for our Heavenly Herbs stand! They learned that herbs are quite holy! Some are used for incense, many are used for healing and that rosemary is named after Jesus' Mother, Mary.

8 Sunday Night Lights Girls & God Bible study uncovering this cool fact-- that our very own St. John is getting a lot of air time during Easter tide services. And they even found his letters! John: 4:19 We love because he first loved us Lee Moore making the most amazing, huge ark giving Noah a run for his money!...the Art from the Heart class leaving secret messages from Jesus on the water catching plates that go under the pots they are painting and seeding for our Heavenly Herbs stand to debut later this spring! This evening of music is a collaboration between the treble and mixed choirs from the Herricks School District and will feature a broad range of music including art songs by Britten, Handel, and Vaughan Williams as well as traditional music from Ghana, Haiti, and the African American Gospel Tradition. 12 Science & Faith in Harmony: Creation, Science, and The Saint John's Bible Modern astronomical discoveries reveal amazing views of our universe, unveiling beautiful nebulae, immense star clusters, colliding galaxies, and countless other wonders. Considering the wonders of the universe, we can appreciate how the Psalmist was inspired to write, "the heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies proclaim His handiwork." (Ps 19:1) In this talk, research astrophysicist Dr. Anton M. Koekemoer highlights some of the exciting astronomical discoveries about our universe, focusing particularly on the Hubble images that were used in the beautiful illustrations in The Saint John's Bible.
