20 Teens and 5 Adult Chaperones spent June 22-June 28 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. They worked on demolishing the inside of a warehouse that will be used for low income housing housing for people who have been living at a local mission during the winter and under bridges when the weather is milder. Our group also spent me at 4 different sites staining a wheelchair ramp and set of stairs, demolishing and rebuilding a kitchen ceiling, and removing some decking. This trip provided me a chance to experience the world outside Chatham, N.J. I also developed new friendships with new people. I had an amazing me on this trip and it was great to be able to help people while making friendships on my own! 10

It is honestly very difficult to put my Hai an experience into words. I have been to Hai for the past three years and truly come back changed every year. The Hai an people I have met are so full of spirit, love, and joy despite having so li le, and I am blessed to be able to call them my friends. - Maggie Nelson From May 22 To May 31, 10 adults went to Ganthier, Hai working with Founda on For Peace and local Hai ans building a professional school which will house 250 students. Our group also stopped to visit an orphanage down the street. There were over 80 children there. Some of the children were dropped off by their parents who are unable to feed them. Others have lost their parents. The orphanage tries to help the children find family members and parents are allowed to visit. Thus adop on from this orphanage is not permi ed. To say that I le my heart in Hai is an understatement. I have made so many good friends, learned so much about others and even myself, and my life has truly changed since my first trip to Hai. It really is such a beau ful country with beau ful people, and nothing can compare! - Chelsea Bennington 11

OUR Worship & Music We ve had a busy, fun me working on many great ac vi es. Here are a few highlights: Par cipated in the Youth Opportuni es Fair and met with the Confirma on Class of 2014, and recruited new members for the Youth Usher Team, the Manna Band, and Youth Bells. Helped organize the special outdoor worship service on August 3 at America's Grow A Row at Peaceful Valley Orchards in Pi stown, New Jersey. Future outdoor services are also being planned. Considering various op ons on the possibility of purchasing new hymnals. Made recommenda ons regarding children's sermons, communion by in nc on, and naming of music group par cipants in the weekly bulle n. Assisted the Music Department with a wide variety of musical offerings this summer, showcasing our talented congrega on. We are busy planning another Family Lessons & Carols Family Service for December. 21, This worship service blends music performed by all of our adult, youth and children s groups, along with youth and adult leaders sharing scripture. Featuring a full chamber orchestra leading many sing-a-longs and par cipa on, this worship is truly family friendly; a not to be missed opportunity to celebrate Advent and Christmas as an en re intergenera onal congrega on. 13 On Sunday, August 3, PCCT held a casual worship and communion, conducted by Reverend Brown at America s Grow-A-Row in Pi stown, New Jersey. Worship took place in a barn, with music by Folk Lore, followed by the harves ng of green beans at the farm and lunch at the nearby Sky Manor Airport Restaurant. "Worshipping at America's Grow a Row was a joy! To be outside in such a lovely, rus c se ng, taking communion while dressed to pick beans, truly celebra ng God's gi of the Earth and the bounty it provides, and then working together to pass that bounty along to those in need was so meaningful. It was such a special way to worship together, with beau ful music by Folk Lore adding to the great feeling of fellowship across genera ons. We even had a dear old dog wander up and sit at Tom's feet as he preached! Loved it - am already looking forward to the next me!" - Nancy Johnson 13

Even though the Annual Stewardship Drive is conducted October/November. Contributions over and above pledges are accepted year round. These special contributions can help to meet shortages not covered by the Stewardship Drive. For more information contact Don Anderson or Deb Ahsler at (973) PCCT's Total Income and Total Expenses for the first six months of 2014 are close to the amounts budgeted. Our collec on of Pledged Income through June 30th is at 97% of the budgeted amount for this me period. Overall, current opera ons for 2014 are close to 22 targeted levels.

PCCT's Dedicated Reserves (part of PCCT Total Dedicated Accounts) are currently below targeted levels. The Church Maintenance Reserve is only funded at 44% of our $125,000 target at $55,319. This reserve is used for major repairs and maintenance to our building and grounds, and a level below target diminishes our ability to keep our physical plant in opera on. We u lized over $50,000 of the reserve in 2013 to replace the older por on of the roof. The Mission Reserve is currently funded at 48% of the $25,000 target at $12,011. An underfunded reserve for mission projects lowers our ability to fund mission ini a ves, especially in emergency situa ons. 23

Our Vision Statement We welcome you to our community as we celebrate the glory of God through faith, fellowship and service. Growing in faith through meaningful worship and learning that is fulfilling, inspiring and challenging. Growing through fellowship with an engaged church family that cares for, comforts and builds friendships with one another. Growing through service as we give our me and talent to help others in and beyond our community. VOLUNTEERS for our many programs are always needed. Please contact the church office so we can point you in the right direc on! Non-Profit Org. U.S. POSTAGE PAID Union, N.J PERMIT #
