Look for opportunities to share the gospel and your personal testimony. 3. Hard question for the month: Is the salvation that Jesus provided to you important enough to share with people who are going to hell? 4. Read Romans 10:14-15 A) How will people know if we don t tell them? B) What are some ways our family could share the good news to people who are going to hell? C) Pray and ask the Lord for opportunities this month to share the gospel as you go. 5. How do I do this? Where do I start? 2 February 1 28, 2019 Month of February: The Opportunity to Love This month of February Pastor Kelly will be preaching on the opportunity to Love as Christ did for His people. The ul mate love story is God sending His Son for us to be that example of love to people. That example of love was laying down His life sacrificially and the same love we need to have for our family, church, and community. March: The Opportunity to Give This month we look at The Opportunity to Give. Pastor Kelly will be preaching on the reasons why we should give. One of my favorite passages of Scripture is 2 Corinthians 9:6 15 because it describes the process of giving. Verse 7 Each man should give what he has decide in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Breaking this verse down it explains the process: We should pray about the ma er, not with an a tude of reluctantly or compulsion, but cheerfully. The term cheerful translates to hilarious, so my ques on to you is Are you hilariously giving to God? Pray, seek the Lord because verse 6 give s us strong instruc on on how we give. Ques ons to ask throughout the Month of March 1. Why it is important to give to God 2. What are some ways we can give as a family? 3. What does the Bible say about Giving? See Acts 20:35, 2 Corinthians 9:6 7, Malachi 3:10, Ma hew 6:1 4, Mark 12: Make it a point of prayer: how we should give this year?

4 April 1 30, 2019 Devo onal We all have something that we are trying to overcome. Whether it s a habit, struggling with an issue or obstacle or even overcoming the fact of God s people throughout the world suffering. As Christ followers we tend to stress worry and doubt situa ons and how God is or is not answering our requests. I want us to look at the fact of how one person overcame death, sin, and the grave in order to give us eternal life. This eternal life is only by what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross, baring our sins, bleeding and dying for us, but resurrected and alive. Jesus overcame and so can we, but we must trust Him with our issues, problems, and current struggles. This month: talk with family members about the salva on that Jesus Christ provides for us and only through Him. Read over John 14:6 and talk as a family about this verse. Only by the reading of His word, prayer, confession, and discipleship can we overcome the struggles we face. Ques ons to ask: Read Mark 2: Be looking and willing to help one another, what are ways that our family could be involved in the church or community? 2. Will you do whatever it takes to help others overcome and disciple the along the way? 3. Is your urgency the same urgency these men had to get the paraly c to Jesus? If you did a Google search on hope you will find 50 plus movies, books, helps, and other inspira onal mo vated speakers taking about finding hope in your life. That s all fine and dandy, but truthfully the only way to find true hope is communica ng with God by reading Scripture and prayer. Then challenge devo onal moment with the family will be looking at Psalm 139 with ques ons that I will spark up to create conversa on with family members. Every night I am encouraging your family to look at each sec on and discuss and hopefully you will have Psalm 139 memorized. Week 1 Psalm 139:1 6 Talk about the Omniscient Omnipresent God and how this brings comfort and peace to our lives Week 2 Psalm 139:7 12 Talk about the possibility of hiding things or just hiding from God Why do we think we can do things in secret? What are some areas we need to release or let go? God can give us hope, strength and guidance but we must trust Him about our future. Week 3 Psalm 139:13 18 Take me thanking God for what He has created What is the comfort v16 brings to us? Week 4 Psalm 139:19 24 Describe the meaning of hate used in this sec on and why David used this terminology VV23 24 should be everyone s prayer Make this apart of your prayer life every me you bow before God.

6 June 1 30, 2019 June: The Opportunity to Fellowship This month Pastor Kelly will be preaching on the opportunity to fellowship. Like any ol Bap st, we pre y much have this one in the bag, right? 7 July 1 31, 2019 July: The Opportunity to Sacrifice This month is The Opportunity to Sacrifice. Pastor Kelly will be preaching about living a sacrificial life in Christ. Sermon Series: July 7 th A Living Sacrifice: Romans 12:1-2 July 14 th Submerge yourself in the Lord: Psalm 139:23-24 July 21 st Becoming Complacent: Ephesians 4:17-31 July 28 th Giving Him your Best: Mark 14:1-9 Devotional and Challenge: Read Luke 9:22-24 Jesus explains to His disciples the meaning of becoming a sacrificial disciple of Christ. In v22 Jesus tells the disciples that He will suffer, be rejected, and be killed and on the 3 rd day be raised to life. Jesus is our ultimate sacrifice for our sins. But He does not stop. Jesus continued in v23-so if you want to come after me basically saying Be my disciples. Followers here are the requirements 1 st Deny self a rejection of self-life living interest and self-fulfillment 2 nd Take up his cross a commitment unto death a willingness to suffer martyrdom 3 rd Follow Me A continual life in Christ Result: v24 Read For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. The result is the fulfillment of the 3 requirements or conditions found in v23. How: if I don t get rid of self-denied living and fulfillment then Christ is not the center and other things take that place. To totally lose life is to totally trust Christ with every part of our lives. We need to take self out and put Christ in. The hard part is that this is an everyday battle for all of us who are in Christ. How are we going to remind ourselves of the sacrifice Christ did for us, so we can live to be more like Him? What are some steps our family is going to take to become more sacrificial? Weekly study: W1 Romans 12:1-2 Describe as a family the meaning of to offer your bodies as living sacrifices List ways we can be a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God as a spiritual act of worship W2 Romans 12:2 Describe what it means to conform This type of sacrifice Paul describes in not conform to the pattern of the world but be transformed by the renewal of the mind What is the difference between conform and transform and how do we apply this to our lives? W3 The point: v2 Test and approve what God s will is. How can we test and approve what God s will is? Explain that transformed, renewal of mind means that our thinking is different than the world s. Because of this, we are in tune with God and will hear Him speak His will for our lives.

8 August 1 31, 2018 Devo onal: 2 Timothy 3:16 17 A. All Scripture is God breathed; Look at other Scripture in the Bible and really take me to think about how we got the Bible Read 2 Peter 1: The Role of the Holy Spirit as God inspired people to write the Bible 2. Take me thanking God for the instruc on He gave us in His Word 3. Take me to understand the reliability of the Bible because of the many witness Jesus had. B. What is the Bible useful for? 1. Teaching, Rebuking, Correc ng, Training in Righteousness 2. Take me explaining what and why each one is important to understand and apply in our lives C. Result v17: Explain the result in v17 without teaching, rebuking correc ng, and training in righteousness, the result would be much different. 1. What are some ways we can encourage one another to be equipped for every good work? Discuss as a family 2. Parent: what is your responsibility to equip your family in training in righteousness? D. Review Deuteronomy 6:6 9. Start today with your family and find ways to encourage them to read, study, and memorize God s Word. Read Matthew 20: This passage demonstrates the wrong attitude to have when serving in our churches or community. Jesus was basically saying: stop complaining, stop demanding, stop trying to get your way, BUT put others first. That is the first and foremost aspect of having a servants heart. 2. Philippians 2:1-4 Explains what we need to do. 3. Challenge: 90 day challenge: Philippians 2:14 Hopefully by now your Sunday school class has already established this challenge but now, they whole church can join in the fun: 90 day challenge is: Stop complaining Stop demanding, stop trying to get your way 4. Serve: It is time to get un-comfortable and serve. How can we make v14 a priority in our serving as a family? Church? What are some ways we could serve others in our church and community? What projects could we do as a family, Sunday school, church with-in our church and community? 5. Point: it is time to change from I Want to I Will

10 October 1 31, 2019 October: The Opportunity to Ba le Pastor Kelly will be preaching on The Opportunity to Ba le for the month of October. The Ba le we face as Christ followers is real and we must prepare and arm ourselves with the best weapon we have: God s Word. Sermon Series: October 6 th Let s Define the Ba le: 1 Timothy 6:12 16 October 13 th Our Main Weapon for the Ba le: Ephesians 6:17 October 20 th Gear Up For Ba le: Ephesians 6:10 18 October 27 th Who is Our Enemy and What does he want: 1 Peter 5:8 14 Devo onal: Pu ng on the Armor of God: Why is it important, what is it and what does it do? 1. Why? We must take a stand against the devils schemes because v12 clearly states who we are figh ng and vv13 18 states how and what to do about it. 2. What is it and what does it do? 3. My challenge: Belt of Truth: Integrity: Holding everything together Breastplate of Righteousness: This protects your heart from the evil one trying to a ack you with tempta ons. Your heart must remain pure before God Shoes of peace: one needs solid foo ng to move from place to place. Satan likes to throw out stumbling blocks, but our solid foo ng of peace will help overcome these stumbling blocks and defeat Satan. Shield of Faith: ex nguish the flaming arrows of the evil one. What are these arrows doubts, doubts about God, faith, salva on or anything else that causes you to worry. Protect yourselves with the shield of faith. Helmet of Salva on: the mind of Christ under the control of The Almighty God. If we are saved, we must transform to the renewal of our minds and protect it from Satan a acks. Sword of the Spirit: what is the best weapon to fight off an a ack from Satan? The Sword, The Word of God. We must memorize Scripture to fight off tempta on and the evil one flaming arrows of a ack. Pray: We must pray the Armor of God on each and every day. Asking the Lord God for strength, readiness, determina on and the Power of the Holy Spirit to help us defeat Satan. This is a must Is to talk more in depth about each part of the Amor of God with your family. Explain how and why it is important? To prac ce pu ng on the Armor of God each day in Prayer as a family and individually. During dinner me discuss how the Amor of God help you during the day.

11 November 1 30, 2019 November: The Opportunity to Express Thanksgiving This month Pastor Kelly will be preaching on The Opportunity to Express Thanksgiving. He will be giving us how we can apply this a tude and ac on in our everyday life. Sermon Series November 3 rd The Joy of the Church: Ephesians 2:1 10 November 10 th The Joy of Salva on: Romans 8:1 17 November 17 th The Joy of the Lord: Romans 11:25 36 November 24 th A Concert of Joy: Psalm 34 Devotional: Thanksgiving is a wonderful time for me because I get to spend time with my family. Thanksgiving morning usually starts off with a turkey trot 5/10k (so I can eat more dessert) then a fest of food/desserts, football games on the television, then a quick nap. The best part of thanksgiving is family time and the memories created each and every year. Either, playing football with my nephew, or going on a hike on a trail in Ponca City and getting lost (because I m their crazy uncle), are memories I enjoy creating with family. But Thanksgiving should be a time of being Thankful for the many blessings God has given us. This month I encourage you and the family to do a couple of things: 1 st write/list out things you are thankful for and explain why. 2 nd as a family: do something totally unexpected to someone in need. Examples: rake leaves, mow a lawn, clean someone s house, work at a soup kitchen, or Salvation Army. Really take part as a family and express thanksgiving to someone as an act of service of kindness this November.

The Salva on of the world was given to us and because of that generous act of God; we worship and give praise to the Father. Pastor Kelly will conclude this Year of Opportunity with worship and praise to the Father for the many things He has done at our church throughout the year. We should praise Him because He is worthy of our praise.
