2 LAY LEADER COMMUNITY MESSAGE Greetings Fellow Koinonian s: Koinonia is a Greek word which means communion, joint participation; the share which one has in anything, participation, a gift jointly contributed, a collection, a contribution, etc. It identifies the idealized state of fellowship and unity that should exist within the Christian church, the Body of Christ. What a wonderful way on this side of eternity to belong to a community of believers that share in one common goal to serve each other as Christ served. It is not a mistake or accident that we called to be on one of the 110 weekends before us. I m so looking forward to this next year seeing what God is going to do not only in the lives of all the candidates, but in each one who serves on the weekends. Please take a moment and think back on your first weekend Friday night, the anticipation, excitement, spiritual battles. Then, think what you felt like at closing. Most Koinonian s say that this was a life changing event. I can t wait to hear about all the miracle that happen on the upcoming weekends I hope you will continue to expect great things from God, especially everlasting life in Heaven and to be in the presence of Jesus for all of eternity! 4 Koinonians: With the weekend fast approaching I m asking for the community to double-up on prayers for the team and candidates. We all know how there is extreme pressure put on by the Evil One to stop this weekend from happening, to distract the team members, and to get the candidates to change their minds. I m asking for the community especially our prayer warriors to stand in the gap for K-111 right now. There are some really special things that will be happening this weekend and we need prayer! All the preparation is done and now we are relying on God. I m looking forward to sharing wonderful experiences! DeColores! 5 Hello to our shining brothers and sisters in Christ, Summer is coming to a close and beginning of Fall is in the air. Soon the smell of apples and sight of brightly colored falling leaves will be all around. Another thing that I look forward to in the fall are the Fall Koinonia weekends. I look forward to seeing how God moves on these weekends. It is different every time but always amazing. Our God is constant but meets us each in our own place. This was very evident in the talks that were shared at our 1 st talk meeting on the 8 th. We were blessed by the 4 th day group, led by Anita Peshek. They provided palanca of a wonderful breakfast of fruit, pastries and breakfast casseroles and lunch of sloppy joes and all sorts of other delicious fare. I want to take this time to thank you all publicly. It was much appreciated. Then came singing and presentation of the talks. While the women share many things in common God brought them along their own path to prepare them to open their hearts to share His light in this world. Our 2 nd talk meeting is planned for Sept 29 th. There may be a few changes to polish up the presentations. I believe ik-112 will be a very powerful weekend for God s glory. With that in mind, the enemy of our souls has and will continue to distract and bring barriers to mind. These barriers can be broken and dismissed because greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. Please continue in prayer for the candidates of the upcoming weekends, that they will be receptive to the messages that God has prepared for them. Please continue to hold up our brothers on the team for K-11 and our sisters for K112 in prayer. See you all at the Palanca parties and events for the weekends.
