2 NC Presbyterian Pilgrimage News Page 1 Dear 4 th Day Friends, One year ago when I was asked to be your rector for Team #120, I was humbled, honored, and definitely overwhelmed! This year has flown by quickly and my anxiety has turned into excitement as the team has formed and plans are in the making for another great weekend for God s glory! I am a fixer. As a wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, Stephen Minister, I wanted to fix things myself; but God has taught me that no matter where you find yourself or what storm is raging in your life, His directive to us is Be still. Do not fret and wring your hands with worry. Lean deeper into Him and feel His strength. So.Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God is my verse for the weekend and the image of a woman leaning into the cross is my logo. God has shown His sense of humor in making me follow my chosen scripture to Be still when I didn t have a head music cha, when 9 team members had to drop off the team, and a pastor had to drop off after the first team meeting! God is good all the A Letter From The Rector time and now the team is God-sized and ready to serve Him and our guests. Now it is your time to be part of the team! Sponsor a guest, add your name to the Prayer Banner, make some Palanca with your reunion group, come to the Send-off and the Serenade! But most of all, please continue to pray for the guests and Team #120 as we serve our Lord! God loves you, my friends, and so do I! Susan Miller

6 NC Presbyterian Pilgrimage News Page 4 A Note From The Editor Group Reunion What s it all about? When I made my Cursillo weekend in January 1969, I knew almost immediately that my life had been changed, but I faced tough years of family stressl overlayed with challenging career burdens. Cursillo was just beginning to take hold in Northern California where I lived; reunion groups were few and far apart and not well defined; the struggle to find or begin a reunion group often ended up in failure. It wasn t until Susan and I moved to the Chicago area where the Cursillo movement was strongly influenced by the active Catholic Cursillo community in Chicago, that the message and strength of group reunion finally happened for me. So, what is group reunion all about? It is a personal commitment to regularly share our endeavors to live the Christian journey the ups and downs, successes and failures, good times and painful times with a small group of trusted friends. What is said or discussed at reunion group meetings remains confidential. Reunion groups meet regularly, usually every week and strive to keep meetings to the agreed upon length usually one hour. We all have family concerns, health issues, work demands, responsibilities, friends with needs. How can we be strong in our Christian journeys with so many demands on time and energy? How can we be Christian Leaders in a world full of turmoil? How can we be faithful to the Pilgrimage image of the Three Legged Stool? Who will help us be accountable to live the balanced Christian life of Piety, Study and Action? The format of reunion groups varies greatly. Our reunion group rotates leadership responsibility every week. The leader opens the meeting with prayer, usually shares a meditation, garners prayer requests and is responsible for leading the meeting and closing it with prayer. We have successfully shared a Christian Study as part of the study aspect of our lives and as a means of centering our conversation during our weekly meetings. We ve been on several retreats. Members try very hard to not miss a meeting we even met via Skype with one member when he was in Germany for an extended time. Our Reunion Group is important to us and its success depends on each of us, every week. How is your reunion group doing? In Christ, Bill Wardlaw- San Francisco Men s Cursillo #14 January, 1969
