This musical blends familiar hymns, current favorites, gospel songs and features solos from the choir. Centennial s Choir practices each Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and welcomes your participation. Billy Graham The world lost a marvelous man of God this last week who went home to be with the Lord. Many have said that his death ends an era, but he would be the first to say that when God s ambassadors die in Christ, the Lord raises up others, because the preaching of the gospel will go forward until the end of the age. God s blessing continues as He opens doors for the gospel around the world. Our church library has many, many books on Billy Graham that can be checked out. Pray for the Graham family at this time. There can t be a harvest unless you plant seed There can t be attainment unless there s a goal, And man s but a robot unless there s a soul. If we send no ships out, no ships will come in, And unless there s a contest, nobody can win. For games can t be won unless they are played, And prayers can t be answered unless they are prayed. So whatever is wrong with your life today, You ll find a solution if you kneel down and pray. Not just for pleasure, enjoyment and health, Not just for honors and prestige and wealth. But pray for a purpose to make life worth living, And pray for the joy of unselfish giving. For great is your gladness and rich your reward, When you make your life s purpose the choice of the Lord. Great News!! Beth Moore will be coming to Columbia MO this summer on July 13th and 14th. We can get our tickets now and if you want to get in on a discount, please contact Jackie in the church office. If you have never been to one of her live events, you are in for a BLESSING!! 8 The Inspiration Behind I Can Only Imagine Movie The story behind one of the most popular Christian songs of all-time is now set to be told on the big screen. The movie, I Can Only Imagine, goes behind the scenes to tell how Bart Millard of the Christian band, MercyMe, wrote the chart-topping song. My dad was incredibly abusive my whole childhood until he was diagnosed with cancer when I was in high school, and he fell desperately and passionately in love with Jesus to the point that when he passed away, he was my hero...the godliest man I ever knew, Millard shared. The words to the song were first uttered through the lips of his grandmother at his father s funeral. And the song was written after leaving his gravesite, the now-christian music star expressed. My grandmother said I can only imagine what your dad is seeing now. Millard told OneNewsNow that he held on to those words for a few years and wrote that phrase down on everything he could get his hands on. This led up to what seemed to be MercyMe s most providential song. MercyMe was now a band and we needed one more song for an independent record, and I tried to find a blank page to write on and every single page had imagine or I can only imagine written on it, Millard recalled. So, I kind of got the memo and wrote something that had been on my heart for a couple of years in about 10 minutes and it changed everything. The movie hits theaters nationwide on March 16. Millard also has a memoir that is releasing alongside the film.
