Come ready to feast at the table the Lord has set for us of bread and wine. LOOKING AHEAD Social Committee Meeting on June 4, at 3:30 pm. Church Camping & Sunday School Picnic at Wheatley Provincial Park, June 7-9. The theme for the weekend is We can live up-side down. Everyone is welcome to join us for the evening campfires and daytime activities at Highland site 73. Register your campsite as close to us as you wish. Father s Day Sunday June 16 th. Coffee will be served after the service to celebrate Fathers and this Ruth & Barry s last day with us before sabbatical. Cathrin van Sintern Dyck s First Sunday will be June 23 rd. UNITED MENNONITE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE (UMEI) Board Fundraising Lunch & Spring Concert Today! May 26 th. Join us from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm for a delicious meal of pork chops, meat balls, mashed potatoes, garden salad, buns & dessert. Admission by donation. Take-out available. From 12-12:30 come and see UMEI's Robotics class navigate their Lego cars from around pylons and extinguish a lit candle. Spectators can have a turn too! 8 COUNCIL NOTES 1. Update on Website. Council is pleased to announce the official launch of our website today. We have purchased Sermon Manager and have over 100 hits weekly. Thank you to Ed Belanger, Jennifer Quiring and Susanne Thiessen for all the effort they have put into the set up and start-up of the website. 2. Update on Bylaws. Vicky Sawatzky and Suzanne Balzer are working on updated to our Church Constitution Bylaws. 3. Proxy Voting. Art Krueger and Ruth Boehm are looking into the proxy voting process and possibly creating our own policy on Proxy voting. 4. Voices on Council. Church Council is looking to add a few members at large. Please give prayerful consideration to adding your voice on council. This does not involve committee work. 5. Christian Education Committee has welcomed 2 new members, Crystal Heinrichs and Rebecca Tonon. 6. Stewardship and Finance Committee has welcomed Bill Peters as Chairperson. More pews have been shortened to accommodate wheelchairs and single chair seating. Lights have been fixed in the youth room, and lighting has updated in the upstairs offices, hallway, and conference room. The committee is also looking into replacing the phone in the kitchen, updating the hot water tank that is over 17 years old, and obtaining additional quotes for carpeting 7. Pastoral Care Committee will be starting after church lunches in Seacliff Park as of June 30 th. Bring your lunch and join us! Everyone welcome. 8
